We were lucky to be here on a Sunday so it was free for us. The translation into English meant we could follow along the history of the art too.

This is one of the best museums I've ever been to. I say that not just because of the vibrant art, but because of the staff that work there to give an insight into the history and meaning of the art. The gift shop had some reasonably priced items as well, so check it out as well!

Great museum to visit. Lots of history and of course, art. Beautiful pieces. There were a few guides in there but since we don't speak good Spanish we didn't engage anyone but there was one guy that approached us and explained to us in English one of the sections in there. I'm sure the others would've been more than welcome to try as well if you'd like them to. Lastly, it was a sweet surprise to find out that entrance to the museum is free on a Sunday (c. 2024) 😀

Amazing gallery! The staff were super helpful and informative. I learned so much about the history of El Salvador through their main exhibition. The history through the eyes of artists is so important. The building is beautiful and the gift shop was lovely, and very reasonably priced.

Excellent muesem. I learned about the history of El Salvador through the art. Amazing visit.

Small but well curated gallery. The history of El Salvador, depicted in different art styles (and summarised in both English and Spanish) was a particular highlight. It really gave a sense of how El Salvador has evolved, and illustrated the horrors of the recent civil war very well.
Free entry on Sunday was a great bonus! They also have free wifi, which makes it easy to translate any signs that aren't on Spanish.

The museum, though small, was outstanding. Due to poor timing on my end I only had 45 minutes until they closed, and definitely would have liked more. The art is world class, and main gallery is a history through art of the country. The art is incredibly powerful and expressive, in large part due to the turmoil of the country. I would expect much of it could be displayed in major world museums. Guillermo was absolutely wonderful in explaining the exhibits and the history (in English since my Spanish is bad). My only complaint is that I wish the gift shop had sold things relevant to the art on display, though the items were of nice quality.
