Bicentennial Marker on Australia Avenue

I labelled this landmark as number one of the 5 Sydney Olympic Park Markers. I live near this marker without realising what it is. I read up on the history of this conical-shaped mounts and learned that they are made of materials and soils that are no longer usable for landscape. This one is not the tallest of the 5 Markers and has no tracks to the top. I decided to follow some old dog's tracks and reached the top. I can just see the Belvedere Lake from across Bicentennial Park, the Tom Wills Community Field, the GWS Giants training ground, and the P3 car park. The five markers corresponding to the Southern Cross on the Australian flag. Fascinating!
