Rose Island is a peaceful place with a not so peaceful past. The strategic history of Rose Island spans many wars. John was our guide, and he is passionate about discovering the history of Rose Island. A great experience.

Wonderful peaceful place to come and unwind. Tour guide John is fascinating with history facts and stories. The Inn Keepers apt was perfect for the 2 night getaway, chairs by the shore to kick back and watch the ships while the breeze blows you to sleep. Morning coffee watching the sun come up and lights on the bridge to see as the sun sets. Captain Mike was fun too on the boat ride over and back. Apt stocked and everyone contributes to the pantry, super idea! Only negative is the microwave doesn't work. This completes my 50 states week vacation in each state and Rhode Island will be remembered with Rose Island complimenting the journey

One of my favorite places to visit on a summer day. Take the ferry from Jamestown or Newport and stop at historic Rose Island (or kayak there!). There's a fee to get on the island, but it's so worth it. Take a tour of the lighthouse, enjoy the three beaches, and hike the perimeter (as long as it's not seagull nesting season, which will be clearly marked). Great place to enjoy beautiful Rhode Island.

Nice self guided tour of the museum in the lighthouse , you get to operate an old record player, climb to the top of the lighthouse, hand pump the water tank for the toilet from a rainwater reservoir, nice gift shop, no snack stand, but there are tables if you want to bring a lunch, most of the island is a bird sanctuary so bring binoculars to see them, lots of shells and seaglass on the beach you can take home, recommend staying at least a few hours

Continuously building anew and better experience for their clients and their detonators. Constantly pushing the envelope and Rose Island back to a self sustainable public education Island. Worth a consideration to your schedule.

A beautiful place to visit, must . If you're feeling adventurous you can also be a light keeper here for the weekend.
