Very delightful trial, the experiences here were unmatched compared to many other trails. Gorgeous well kept trail, plenty of parking, pet friendly, and free. I would recommend this trail to anyone, not a difficult trail at all. If you’re looking for a bit more difficult park at the east end and walk to the west end the is some steep inclines. But if you’re just wanting to see the scenery, park at the east end and turn around after the tunnel ends.

Really interesting place for a 2-mile hike! When and where can you walk through an old railway tunnel which traverses a mountain! See the old-world style brickwork!

Easy walk down a gravel path to the tunnel, which is a nice reprieve on a hot day. Worth it in and of itself, but you could continue the hike through the other side.

Very cool to literally take a walk through history. From the east side parking lot it's only about .6 miles to the entrance. The tunnel is around 4500 feet long so it's not a long walk and its well maintained! Take a flash light and a light jacket if you get cold easily.

Really cool hike to, through, and beyond the tunnel. Historical information posted at various points. Limited Johnny on the spots...bring good walking shoes and a headlamp or flashlight.

We celebrated my husband's 100th Day post stem cell transplant by visiting this tunnel for the very first time. Parks and Rec had golf carts to ride. Our driver, Nancy, was very knowledgeable about the history of this tunnel. We will definitely be back. We highly recommend you visit. They are open from sun up to sun down. Bring a flashlight and sweater. It's dark and 55 degrees inside.
