Worst experience. They made us leave our seats even though we were sitting on the one alloted and gave it to someone else. They were a group so didn't want to sit apart but we were a group too and had to sit seperately.

My train was too late to depart from New Delhi railway station, then decided to watch movie near by. I found this theatre on google map and reached there AND found as shown in picture. Very disappointing situation ☹️.

This movie theater is the first 70mm theater in India, it's a classic, with a special ambiance. For a foreigner cinema enthusiast, it is quite something to see a movie here. I really encourage people to experience it for themselves!

I do not speak Hindi, nor Punjabi, but I found a movie that had a simple scenario, so it didn't matter much.
The more I got in this experience, the more I learned about India and the more I was surprised of these little differences, you know, they have the same things over there, but, different... I Feel like I'm quoting "Pulp Fiction"... :-)

So, it begins by buying a ticket. There is an array of prices, because there are different sections, balcony, general, second balcony, higher class, cheaper places in the front, etc...

I buy my ticket in advance, then about 30 minutes before the movie starts I get in line to go in. Well there is no line, just a bunch of people waiting peacefully, and when the doors opens, people are getting inside in a surprisingly respectful manner. Time to buy some pop-corn.

Here again, a little surprise. They only have one size, small. This is something I learned too, in India, snack portions are usually small. I think they share more too.

Ok, I get to my seat, it's a big room, I mean HUGE. maybe a thousand people in there ? I hear a baby crying, but it really doesn't matter as you cannot hear him during the movie because the room is so big!

The lights are dimming, some ads are starting. I always find these commercials interesting, you can learn a bit about the society with the messages before a movie. There was a campaign about women rights, something like "Woman : if you get harassed in the subway, you have the right to goto the police." And another campaign was a video showing people on how to vote. These reflects the societal challenges, very interesting.

Ok, the movie starts. The hero appears, music bursts, people are screaming, clapping, I feel like in a freefall when the parachute opens, you are automatically drawn in a joyful ride, feeling connected to all these people, having fun watching something colorful. Wow! I never had so much fun watching a movie I couldn't understand any word, but I could understand every scene! The Indian magic, where you have 10000 soldiers running in every directions, with bullets flying everywhere, heroes jumping, and suddenly a friend gets hit! The music stops, changes, everyone is standing still, the action can be stopped for 30 minutes, looking at life, remembering childhood's memories, the photo of the wife in the hero's pocket, camera zooming on the teardrop... And the action suddenly continues! Bollywood magic!

Other little difference, sand buckets are the fire extinguishers :-)

I really enjoyed this movie theater, don't hesitate to go.

One of the oldest and probably only single screen Theater In Delhi, which has 70 mm screen. It's sound system is good and can very well compete with other modern multiplexes.

It offers overall good experience and must say VALUE FOR MONEY. Balcony and Dress Circle prices are 140 and 160/- respectively.

Area of improvement:
-Cleaning of toilets/ urinals
-Cleaning of theaters (seats and all) from inside.
