Thank you for always providing our children with a warm and welcoming educational experience! We were particularly delighted by the volunteer train conductors selecting our boys to be the assistant conductors on the steam train today- our kids have not stopped talking about how special an experience it was and how special they felt. It was a very fun experience all around!

Educational and entertaining place, especially for kids.
People working here are very kind and welcoming!
We tried old fashioned scones and hand rolled butter, did laundry old-styled and created a souvenir with blacksmith.

It’s very nice place to walk around. Staff are friendly & willing to impart the knowledge about Muskoka’s history especially Mr. Dough who is a volunteer, shared about train’s history in the past, he’s super friendly to talk with all guests on the train station. High recommend this place for all age

Absolutely stunning place and program with kids. We are a monthly returning family from Victoria Day to October.
Wish to join the Santa Train.🎅 😉
Nice settlers village and museum, with a short line of the Portage Flyer on the shore of the Fairy Lake. My favourite place with unique atmosphere.🤗
Kids and animal friendly, the best program for the whole family.

The train ride was very informative with the friendly staff helping the riders and giving great information. The Pioneer Village started out good at the ticket counter where a young girl at the cash gave us information on how to get around the village. The village itself is well laid out but all the staff working inside the village were all hiding from people giving no information or answering any questions. Still a must see in Huntsville but I can only give it a 2 star rating. Visited May 22, 2024.

Enjoyed a wonderful day with our 4 & 7 year old grandkids! They enjoyed doing old school laundry, making a candle, making butter, a doll of cat tail reeds, dressing up in period customs, bending iron in the blacksmith building and a school lesson using a chalk pad (the precursor to the iPad!) The docents were amazing. Lynne is an absolute gem!
An enjoyable way to spend time immersed in a historical experience! Take your time and enjoy a beautiful day that will create great memories

This is an amazing Heritage museum. Great for kids, very informative and some hands on activities. Definitely recommend a visit. Kids will love the train ride also, down at the train museum.
