Breathtaking mosque and likely one of the attractions you'll be visiting in Istanbul. It's gorgeously decorated outside, especially in the early morning sunshine. Inside was nice with intricate ceilings and domes. Mind where you walk because people are lounging on the floor

It's quite busy here so expect a line to get in. Entry is free. No shorts permitted.

Upon entering the Blue Mosque in Istanbul, one is instantly enveloped in a serene atmosphere, a testament to its historical and religious significance. Its grand domes and intricately designed minarets reach towards the heavens, while the rich blue tiles that give the mosque its popular name paint a celestial tapestry inside.

For a Muslim visitor like myself, the tranquility is profound. The ambiance inside fosters deep reflection and spiritual connection, allowing visitors to momentarily detach from the bustling city outside. The soft echo of prayers and the rhythmic patterns on the carpet underfoot create a space where peace and spirituality coalesce effortlessly.

Visiting the Blue Mosque isn't just about admiring its architectural marvel; it's about experiencing a deep sense of peace, a sanctuary for the soul in the heart of Istanbul. Whether one is there for prayer, contemplation, or simply to appreciate its beauty, the Blue Mosque leaves an indelible mark on the heart. Highly recommended for anyone seeking solace and inspiration.

The Blue Mosque is a notable landmark in Istanbul, with its iconic domes and minarets. The inside is adorned with detailed blue tiles, offering a glimpse into historical artistry.

It’s an active place of worship, so respectful attire and mindful visiting hours are crucial. The serene ambiance inside allows for quiet reflection, a welcome experience amidst the city’s buzz.

The site can get crowded due to its popularity, which might detract a bit from the experience. But, the mosque’s historical charm and cultural.

It is an amazing structure with so much history, very fascinating to re- visit here again. I did not visit in inside as it was too crowded, however I very much enjoyed walking around and taking the view from the outside.

We visited the Blue Mosque as part of a tour group. We arrived around 8:00am on Thursday, and the line was already fairly long. It took us about 20 minutes to get inside, but the garden around the mosque is fairly shaded, and beautiful.

You won't need a tour guide for a visit. I would recommend reading about the mosque before you arrive.

Dress:
Everyone: Wear pants that come below the knees and shoulders must be covered.
Everyone: Be sure to wear shoes you can slip on and off quickly/easily. I suggest bringing a small bag/sack to carry your shoes in, so you don't have to store them and go back and get them as you leave.
Women: Bring something to cover your hair while inside. (Hair must be covered completely to go inside). There is a kiosk as you enter, and they will provide head coverings and wraps for the knees for free.

An absolutely amazing mosque with beautiful architecture! Both interior and exterior. If you’re visiting Istanbul you should definitely check out blue mosque! By the way due to religious restrictions you need to wear a headscarf or take one from the entrance. Definitely worth it

This is a must. Simply stunning and beautiful with amazing views. You will love the architectural brilliance. No shoes on entry (you can carry in your hands or just bring a bag), ladies have to wear appropriate covering. This is supplied at the entrance if you do not have any. Mosques do not charge an entrance fee.
