I'll admit I shyed away from this food cart pod for years. The barbed wire fencing was a little too San Quentin for me. I realize now this was a mistake and the the inside was super clean and family friendly with tons of carts and seating. It's definitely worth visiting and could become your favorite food cart pod.

Great place with lots of options and seating. Plenty of shaded seating for summer, and heated areas for winter. I came with a group of friends and we all enjoyed our food a lot. I love the look of it as well.

I think this food cart pod is really well done (in the sense of what food cart pods have become in Portland: safe, clean, inviting, family friendly). Many food options to choose from. There are many seating areas. There are actual restrooms. There is an area for people to separate their garbage into different streams. There is an actual bar inside (although I did not partake). I had the fish and chips from Tall Boy which was great: perfectly cooked fish and fries. Locally sourced options available. Salty, crispy, and delicious. Service was friendly, but unfortunately, my partner had eaten most of their meal by the time my order was ready. We also ordered the chicken samusars from Burmese Delight. They were a touch greasy but delicious with a spice I was unfamiliar with, but enjoyed.

The Hawthorne Asylum Food Carts have a wide variety of foods to choose from. There are plenty of tables throughout. Some are covered, and some are by heaters. There is street parking only, so you might have to walk a few blocks as sometimes it's hard to find a spot. I got an egg wrap yum thing from the Yum Food Cart. It was every tasty.

We only tried one food truck and the brewery, but we definitely enjoyed the experience. We will be back! The Mediterranean food was perfect and filling - we enjoyed the baklava as a treat after our wrap and sandwich.

One of my favorite food cart pods! Lots of seating, heaters, and many options for food. There's even tables with a fire pit in the middle. Fun trash cans! Nice lighting with string lights and music playing without being overwhelming. 10/10.

VERY cool group of food trucks. Fun atmosphere. Food does take a little more time than normal to get to you, but overall, great experience and fun food options.
