The owner (or whomever Thijs is) is extremely unprofessional. I have only been live for a few weeks and have struggled with the platform. You cannot call the company, you have to email them. The response time varies. They are either punctual or it could be hours to a full day before getting back to you and never answer all your questions at once. Today though was bad. Their system double charged one of my guests. I could not tell why it had done that, so when I sent the email, he answered a different question I had but never answered that very important question. I emailed him 3 times with no response. I got on Facebook to where he runs his customer service. He said that since I was complaining about his response time he won't answer me until tomorrow. This was too big of a deal for that type of response from them. This is our livelihood. And our reputation. Luckily, my guest was very understanding and let me send her an invoice from a different platform and we got her booked. I was not nice to Thijs. So, he retaliated and flagged all of my listings with reason like issues with my calendar and not responding to guests, which made me lose my future bookings dates. Luckily I keep the booking emails. Look, the platform is cheap. And it functions very cheap. I have a gym software program that does a better job than Houfy. Do not use this platform. Unless you're good with subpar customer service and when you call them on it, the retaliate by deactivating your listings.

Love this social marketplace where vacation property owners and travelers save money. It’s a Win-Win. Travelers communicate directly with verified owners and there are no service fees. It’s super easy to market a property and the support is FANTASTIC.

The other big name vacation rental sites add on 3-20% in "service fees" that only get you contact information for a generic 1-800 rep who doesn't know any specifics of each property other than what is on the website. As a traveler I'm thrilled to have found Houfy where I can see right up front that there are no extra website fees charged to the traveler. As a vacation rental owner I'm so happy that travelers can reach us direct so I can honestly answer their questions, rather than be mis-represented by the toll-free number.

Fantastic new website to find a great vacation rental home! Each time I go to this site, I find more homes have been added. I really like the ease of use and layout much better than VRBO and Airbnb. The pictures were great and I loved the guides for each house. The best part is no fees to renter and I was able to get the contact info of the homeowner before giving my Visa card! My new favorite site, I’ve told all my friends to go here first! Planning a trip to Spain or Greece next year and will definitely choose a home from this site.

We love Houfy. The developers of the site are creating a site like Vacation Rentals by Owner (VRBO) used to be before they started charging owners AND guests a fortune. If you are an owner, sign up for Houfy immediately to save on yearly fees. If you are a guest, book through Houfy to save all the fees VROB and AirBnb will charge you. You can book direct through the Owners on this site and communicate with them before you book....just like you could in the old days with the sites mentioned. I now direct all my people who contact me outside the big sites to book with us through Houfy. The developers are working tirelessly on this site to make it competitive in the Rentals by Owner market.
