Didn't actually visit the tower. Seen and photographed from the Castle Walk. It's the usual Victorian Foly. Some ppl back in the day had nowt better to do with their wealth......

We stayed here for 3 nights through the Landmark Trust. It was amazing! We wished we could have stayed longer.

So we tried to stop and take a look at this place on the way to Dundee.
No obvious signs of where to park, but we found a car park close by. Unfortunately it was raining, parking was £3 I believe.
Once parking paid for abd brolly unpacked we looked for ways to get to the tower.
No signage, no pathways, no directions. Asked a few people nearby and they had no clue either.
I think, but I'm not sure you have to trek up a hill in a nearby field to get to it.
So we saw the top from afar but never actually visited.

Very nice views from around the area. You can only walk so far as rest of land is public access

John Yorke built the Cumberland Temple or Culloden Tower in the Temple grounds of Yorke House, as to commemorate the victory of the Duke of Cumberlands army over Bonnie Prince Charlie. Now owned by the Landmark Trust as a holiday let.

Beautiful location with a throwback through history. I hope to visit here again as all the little details really bring this place together. The decor is beautifully recreated after plenty of work has been redone to restore it to its original form.

English Heritage property that was open to the public on a special today. 96 (?) steps to get wide ranging views of Richmond from each floor and the roof.
