Top notch! Great for beginners and veterans alike. The purple beginner tees are a perfect distance for my 11 year old daughter who is starting to take up the game. The wonderful course layout and conditions are great for seasoned players as well, and the state of the art carts with GPS and display provide an added bonus. Very hospitable and dog friendly team.

Big shout out to Don (the owner) and the staff at Muskoka Highlands GL for being so friendly and accommodating this past weekend. Good people + nice golf course. I am looking forward to returning soon.

We played 9 holes as it was super hot out. The service when we arrived was welcoming and sent us out on the back as it was less busy. Couldn't ask for more in a lynx style course. Greens were very fast and in immaculate shape.

Very welcoming attitude at this golf course! Love how accessible they are making golf, which is much needed in a modern a world.
As for the course, where it lacks in distance, it more then makes up for with challenging greens. The greens were surprisingly fast, with lots of undulations. GIRs are easy to come by with the wide open fairways and rather short track, but a GIR here is by no means a guarantee for par. Where you put it on the green matters here. Miss the green and you need to be tactical with your short game with lots of elevation variations around the greens, and did I mention the greens were fast?
While the course may be short, the par 3s are not, from the tips many of the par 3s are 190 yrds+ and play into the wind. The two short par 3s play downhill with the wind which makes for challenging club selection.
Generally the conditions at the course were fairly good with the greens being in terrific condition. The fairways were a bit lacking on some holes, but I don't think that detracts much from this course, nor do I think it bothers too many here (myself included). Tee boxes on the course were okay. The driving range has great visuals and targets but the grass on the tees were a bit rough and many of the range balls need to be taken out of rotation (lots of split balls). But overall a great place to practice and play.

Great place to play. The best driver range in Muskoka

Muskoka is known for its expensive, high end golf courses. I recently played 3 of its mid tier options; Muskoka Highlands, North Granite Ridge and Lake St George. They are all good value and kept in very good condition. Of the 3 courses, Muskoka Highlands had the best conditioned tee boxes and sand traps. The greens putted well and were of moderate speed. It is a fun course, offering a lot of open vistas of the surrounding countryside. Many holes are lined with thick fescue, but the fairways are generous enough so that staying out of fescue is usually not a big problem. The grass on a few of the fairways was a bit spotty. The course is par 69 and under 6000 yds from the back tees. If you play from the suggested tee blocks, based on your driving distance, you will have an enjoyable round.
Kudos to the management for making golf more accessible. On my recent round I saw two golfers out with well behaved dogs and a father out with his toddler in a stroller modified to also carry golf clubs.

A great little 18 hole course in Bracebridge. Challenging but still manageable as a beginner golfer. I loved that every hole was named after a guide dog that the owners had fostered!! A great dog friendly course!
