Try to go via the stairs through the ‘forest’ part. Enter near the university. Prettiest road, viewpoint is ok but a bit like a parkingspot.
Not an easy place to get too. No signs or direction once you get to the parking lot. It's a bit of a hike once you park. Great view though...

Great view of Montreal and the river.
Nice viewpoint overlooking Montreal. Day was cloudy and wet when I was there, but still great view. There is a large, beautiful "chalet" here as well, with a coffee shop serving light fare, and seating area to eat. Large, tall windows facing the view. Also very clean, modern washrooms downstairs as well. Approx 7-10 minute walk along a level, slightly uphill path, from the nearest parking lot. Free except for the very reasonable parking cost.
