The Cristo Redentor is pretty! Scenery is impressive! I loved it! Facilities need some maintenance! It is too crowded when my wife and I visited the place!
Must see place. This place must be on the bucket list for sure. The wait time for the tram was around 2 hours but so worth it. The road to the top was amazing, and of course, the statue is impressive.
I love to see Christ the Redeemer from any point in Rio, but getting up close was special. At 9am on a weekday there were already lots of visitors. Most were taking pictures and selfies, some praying at the base of the statue. Magnificent view of Rio! We saw our hotel in Copacabana beach clearly. We purchased tickets in Copacabana with transportation to the site for R122 adult and R68 for the kids. The van takes you through the city and up and up through the narrow streets. This was an experience on its own. The van takes us to what looks like a tram station with café, and then another van took us to the statue. Maybe overwhelming if afraid of heights (three of us are), but we got used to and comfortable after some time.
Stunning view, directions are very clear and the Paineiras center is relatively organized. The monument was recently restored and looks really much better than the last time I was here. Very gentle and nice staff, 10/10! However, it is really too crowded by the weekends! It can be really hot out there too. I think they could also have cheaper prices for students!
And please, DON'T FEED THE ANIMALS!
