A nice loop in Morrison. Nice views of Downtown and Red Rocks. Seems to be a popular trail. Expect to see other hikers.

Great hike

This trail is close to Denver, but on the backside of the trail, it feels like you're deep in the mountains where you no longer hear the rush of I-25 traffic. About 1 mile in, there's a slight diversion with a commanding view of Denver and Aurora and plenty of rocks to rest on. There was snow on the trail, but traction devices or spikes are not needed.

Turkey Trot Trail is a great hike best accessed from Mt. Falcon Park East Trailhead in Morrison. TTT forks off quickly to the right when leaving the parking lot.
A counterclockwise loop taking Turkey Trot up and then Castle Trail back to the parking lot will chalk up just under 3.5 miles and about 810 feet of elevation. The first part is exposed and can get hot but the views out toward Denver and the plains are fantastic. Turkey Trot Trail becomes nicely shaded as you make your way to the western side of the mountain.
This is a great hike with constant points of interest along the way.
