El Caporal Mexican Restaurant

We eat at this place when we stop in town on our way through. I grew up with a similar restaurant so it is nostalgic for me. Good food. Love all the live plants inside.

I had the chicken enchiladas..and it wasn't my favourite...and I love enchiladas...but the chips and salsa were delicious.. they bring those out complimentary which was really nice. House made salsa..it was great. Beautiful setup. Very traditional. Just wasn't huge on the flavor of the enchiladas..

Found the rice and beans a little bland, but my chimichanga was quite good and the food was piping hot when it came to us. Extremely fast service and cute little place.

3.5 stars, decent food and service. Not great, not bad. The atmosphere is always good. Family-friendly. The decor is a fun vibe.

Walked in and saw a diners food and it looked amazing so I Ordered the #24 they had 29(only difference was enchilada instead of the tamale) on the menu tostada, chicken enchilada, taco, and something with a pepper in it.
It was plenty of food for the price. My complaint is that my plate had some red sauce poured over everything and pooled as well as a generic cheese blend sprinkled and melted on everything.
Everything, beans and rice included, had the same taste and it was ehh. It was pretty bland to be honest and the only flavor I got from the salsa was onion. The crispy taco was soggy from the sauce as was the tostada so not pleasant.
I can't say that I look forward to eating here again and if I do, I will not eat one of these combination meals.
Great service until the end and great atmosphere. Server didn't give me a bill but walked up with the credit card device and put the chip reader to my card without ever telling me the total or showing a bill. He didn't even know the total until he printed the card receipt. That and the food left me disappointed and wondering if it's too late for subway down the street.

I could have been starving from a four hour drive(I wasn’t starving), I have not had Mexican food that delicious since I lived in San Ysidro on the border nearly thirty years ago. Delicious in every bite, flavors I missed, but they have them and I’m so happy Cle Elum had this. The drinks were very good too.

Place has great food service and atmosphere. We had Carne asada, and the kids ordered chicken chimichangas. Their Horchatas were very good and gave the Lil ones quite the sugar highs. lol, I'm probably going to limit them to just one next time. The Mexican pizza we ordered was one of the best I've had. Definitely recommend.
