Best sunset view in the city, lots of bugs though

I wish it was trimmed, cleaned up a bit better but it's a cute spot to take a date and sit and watch over the city of Detroit as the sun sets.

It's kinda windy sometimes so be prepared.

Have a picnic. Bring a tent like I've seen out here and cash in on your cute date /picnic idea right there at the park but don't get caught. 😜. Close your tent door and keep quiet with the noises.

The wife and I decided to go to Belle Isle the other day and had a great time. Aside from trying to order a snow cone by the water fountain and getting attacked and chased by bees it was a lot of fun. The last day of summer and the bees were not going down easily. I actually had to put my snow cone on the ground and let the bee have it luckily the vendor gave me another one. My wife and I hurried to the car and close the windows so the bee couldn't get in. He was very determined though so we pulled off. What was really nice with seeing everybody outside and just having a good time. There was a lady relaxing on her blanket there was a family having a picnic, there was a group of older people just sitting down conversating. It was just nice to see people out and about.

Belle Isle is clean, friendly and fun now that the DNR is maintaining and patrolling this wonderful Jewel in Detroit. Plenty of parking, so much to do and easy to get to. Don't forget to go down the big yellow slide and visit the fountain and museum.

Love this place! Feels very cold even when it's 90 degrees in the afternoon but well worth it. Bring a throw with you and enjoy the sunset over downtown Detroit.
