Great place to run if you’re staying in downtown Richmond. Paved. Wide enough to pass easily. Great views.

We have riden the VCT and started from Jamestown side many times. Today was our 1st ride from the Richmond side. Park is nice but the litter in the parking lot just past the Dock Steet park was Terrible and everywhere. Definitely cleaner and folks a little friendlier on the Jamestown side. Rode to Dorey Park Caribbean festival and back. Corey Park was nice.

Excellent trail and very clean and well managed. Haven’t traveled the whole trail yet , but we will be headed there again soon with our electric bikes using petal assist. Highly recommended bike trail.

I wouldn't recommend starting a bike ride from Shiplock Park in downtown Richmond. It's very hilly and has too many highway crosses for a relaxed ride. Experienced riders advised me to start in Dorey Park for a smoother ride.

Very nice runner and walker friendly trail that runs for many miles from Richmond to almost Williamsburg. Plenty of runners and the area is well maintained.

Beautiful views! James River, Chickahominy River, plantations, more. Nice path away from auto traffic. Goes from Richmond to Jamestown so there are a few areas where you have to cross streets but crossings have signals for pedestrians so I felt safe. Some challenging hills but lots of stretches where mostly flat. Lots of bridges where you cross over creeks. Whether you want to walk, run, bike slow or fast I highly recommend!! Treat yourself to one of a few restaurants nearby at Richmond Trailhead, Culs Courthouse Grill at Charles City Courthouse Trailhead, or Billsburg Brewery near Jamestown Trailhead.

Lovely little hidden gem of a park in the middle of the big city. Great trails and history all along the way. Watch out if super sensitive to poison ivy though, it's on the sides of almost every path.
