This was my 2nd time at Il Vecchio, and I still absolutely love this place. The food was amazing; from the appetizers to the entrées, and then the desserts...AMAZING! Let's not forget the fantastic service we got from Matt. He was so kind and attentive, despite how busy it was throughout the entire restaurant. Every time we're down here, I always get excited when my aunt and uncle suggest we eat here, so this is for sure a favorite of mine.

I got the chance to try this place out today and let me just start with a very impressed with the food and portions. I am not a Italian food connoisseur so I can't tell you whether or not this is authentic. What I will say is that the food was delicious and the flavors that I experienced were not flavors I have very often. I was very impressed with the quality of food. Unfortunately though the service was quite lacking, I showed up with an old friend today, during the midday and it was not very busy. The employee that helped us while very friendly was also very very late when giving us Refreshments like coffee or giving us our food that we ordered. I'm not upset or anything about it I think that they were just having an off day. But in terms of service it was lacking today. Although I will mention that even though the server was lacking his demeanor was very inviting. I do invite anyone to come check out this place as I imagine the service is top-notch I just feel like I picked up the wrong day to come through.

The best meal we had in 2 weeks in California. The food was delicious - tasted like authentic home cooked Italian. High quality ingredients and made with love. Service was excellent, and the ambience inside was very warm, cosy and just spot on.
We ate the tempura artichokes for starter which were delicious and unusual, with three tasty dips. For main we tried some pastas (both excellent) and a delicious sprouts side. Very generous portions.

We had a great dinner here with my family. Authentic italian flavour. Everything we ordered was delicious and the price was reasonable. The employees were friendly and knowledgeable. Very interesting story of the restaurant. I love everything about it and we can't wait to go back. Must try!

High quality food and service. The new owners are pouring their passion into this place and it shows in the best ways. I loved the Fibonacci cocktail, crab arancini, the ragu pasta, their pesto pasta, and the strawberry balsamic gelato~

For our 34th Anniversary we decided to try Il Veccio, 🇮🇹 restaurant in Pacific Grove. It came highly recommended thru reviews and we wanted to try something out of our comfort zone. Also we read that on Thursday night they have a live Jazz band from 6pm to 8pm. Parking is a little tricky so go a little early to find parking. They do have some parking in the back of the restaurant. Reservations is a must...they get pretty busy. When you walk into the restaurant take time to turn around and read all the notes about the restaurant that they posted around the exit door. I love how they tell you about the history of their pieces to where the furniture is from and how old. Pretty cool!!
We ordered the bread service, Eggplant fries and Charcuterie board for our appetizers. The Eggplant fries was delicious and the middle dipping sauce was a perfect partner for it. I ordered chopped garlic to add to the bread oil which I highly recommend. Beet salad was delicious and actually big enough for a main meal. The burrata cheese and candied walnuts that was in the beet salad really gave it that extra special touch and yumminess. My husband had the Caesar salad and Butternut Squash ravioli. Which he enjoyed and ate all of it. I honestly got so full from the appetizers and delicious beet salad I didn't eat my traditional Carbanara pasta. I ordered the Italian sausage with it too. I will let you know it was super delicious later that evening and was big enough for me to share with my son as a late night meal. The crispy prosciutto was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS and I've never had an egg with my pasta but I really enjoyed it! We didn't give Il Veccio 5 stars because we compared it to experience we had at Basil restaurant in Carmel. Even though service was nice....they were so busy that the waiter really wasn't able to connect with you and explain a little more about the dishes. Live Jazz was pretty cool and their Gelato Creation for dessert was divine! You can tell Il Veccio is a local favorite since a lot of families were there to celebrate their special evening together. So definitely check them out and ENJOY!

It took a long time to get seated, and that was even with calling ahead and making reservations. The place was very crowded and a few groups gave up and went somewhere else because the wait was long.
The atmosphere was dim and cozy. There was quite a bit of dust on the lamp that shines down, which was apparent because it was low and got bumped and you could see the dust puff through the air around us, which usually I'm not examining a place for dust everywhere but it was a lot, and right at face level.
Right away we could tell or waitress was on edge and stressed, probably from it being so crowded. I try to not hold that against servers, maybe she had a bad day, or maybe it was understaffed? But she was like that the whole time and it became uncomfortable.
The food took a while, again it was very crowded, so that makes sense. The food was very flavorful and amazing. The salmon seemed a tad undercooked in the thickest part, but I didn't want to say anything because the service wasn't that good at that point.
The rest of the family loved the black cherry Gelato float.
I thought that maybe during our stay we would come back as I wanted to try a cappuccino and we wanted to try a different dessert, but after the service, it is not a place I would want to go back to.
