Often I will shop at one grocery store, and then if I can’t find an item there, I will head over to another nearby store, noting I will still have the bag from the first store. This is a pretty common thing to do during a day of shopping, right? If you ever shop at Coles Turramurra and head over to this IGA, they will make you empty your bags to check the contents with a fine toothed comb, and then make you pull up your online transaction history to make sure it matches (because most grocery stores don’t give you paper dockets anymore). Mind you I shop here often, so I can’t imagine why this one staff member insists on treating me like a thief each time. I understand they have the right to check bags, but seriously, every single time? It’s humiliating and unnecessary and has never happened to me anywhere else in my life. I had no issue pulling up my Coles history on my phone on all these occasions, but what if someone is vulnerable and not digitally savvy? What if they didn’t get a paper docket? You often don’t get them these days unless you go out of your way to ask. Would I have been detained if I couldn’t pull up my Coles transaction history? Plus the only reason I came to this staff member was to avoid the other one on the checkout who is ALWAYS angry and shouting at customers. Today’s ordeal was the last straw and I will now avoid IGA where possible.

Since the ownership changed in this store it is getting super expensive. Today they were offering packaged beans for $30/kg. To be fair loose beans were about $17kg but this is still more than 50% higher than coles and woolworths. I also wish they would fix their isle signage.... it gets me every time.

A couple of days ago I bought some peaches and bananas at the IGA at the Turramurra Plaza for the first time, I recently moved to Turramurra from the lower north shore of Sydney. Unfortunately, the fruit being very expensive was virtually non eatable, all the peaches looked okay on the outside but were brown and spongy on the inside I had to throw them all away. The bananas were not great, I managed to eat 2 out of 5 bananas the others were very flowery and unpleasant tasting and they also had to be binned. I will not be shopping at the IGA Turramurra shop again although it’s my local shop. The parking was great.

Regarding pasta salads, Why don't you have different prices for the different containers instead of prices by weight ? You'll sell a lot more if you have set prices instead of by weight. Won't waste as much food. But your Barbecue chooks beat Woolworths and Coles hands down.

An amazing store with the most amazing and friendly staff. The register staff deserve a raise for how lovely they are to me, a little old lady. Rachel is always so friendly to me and always down for a chat when serving me. Lily is such a sweetheart and is always listening to my boring stories. Allie is always so kind to me on the phone and is quite the funny one, she is also really good at packing my bags. Let's not forget the darling Hamish who always knows where everything is and is always singing, which brings joy to my ears. Not only is it just the register staff who are amazing though, a lovely tall fellow named James gives me a car service every time I'm in stores, so considerate of him, and he is also very talkative. The managers as well, Ash and Simone, are very lovely people that always help me with anything in the store and make sure my needs are met. The owner Mark, is also a very friendly fellow that makes sure all his customers receive the highest quality of products and service. Definitely recommend, it's my home away from home!
