Bread store is fantastic, forest and delicious, the veg one has an enormous variety of fruit and veg some I'd never heard of!
I always loved Saffron Walden market. What a beautiful place, love the fresh fish counter, bread and savoury, fruit and vegetables. I have even noticed a dry vegetal/ fruits stall. Highly recommended by me.
It wasn't a market day, only Tuesdays and Saturdays. We even enjoyed the visit to the village and took lots of pictures of the beautiful facades. There is so much history through the walls and houses that if you can stop and close your eyes, you can listen to the old tales.
First time visitors, the market is smallish with around a dozen vendors. Some are very good, the Brown Bread bakery is first rate. There is a fine fruit and veg stall too, great olives nearby. The town is ancient with lovely old buildings, plenty of independent stores and coffee shop's.
Love it so much here especially the flower stall.The young couple that run it are amazing and very helpful.The flowers are absolutely beautiful and last weeks.
The fish stall has such a wide selection,I bought the fresh tuna,prawns and some sandfire it tasted delicious.

A small but "complete" award-winning market, in a town which has been holding them since 1141.
First-class coffee stall by a couple who identify the growers, import the beans and roast them. They sell coffees you won't find anywhere else.
Also an excellent wet fish stall.
Lots of places nearby to eat and drink.
