Stopped in after a show for a drink. Absolutely fabulous cocktails. The most perfect old fashioned we've ever had. Even the ice in the glass was crystal clear. They special order their ice from a talented ice maker from the Baltimore area.

Recommend Peacock Alley for their breakfast. It’s located inside Waldorf Astoria in Washington DC. Also venue for afternoon tea that is available from Thursday to Sunday (which we didn’t have opportunity to try!). We ordered Eggs Benedict and Shrimp n Grits. Both were delicious, shrimp and grits lacked the southern style sauce/gravy, it was less southern then Italian (tomatoes in sauce). Eggs Benedict muffins could have more crispness, bacon was not crispy.

Great service and atmosphere. Was here for breakfast and also had their room service (same menu if staying at the Waldorf)
Overall their food is great and can’t say anything bad about it. Really wanted to do the high tea but due to my schedule it did not work out.
It is pricey but you are also paying for the experience, service and atmosphere.

I made reservations for tea time over 3 months in advanced for my best friend’s birthday. What appealed to me during the time of the reservation was that they had the Alice in wonderland themed tea time.
I received a call 3 hours prior to my reservation that went like this:
Woman on phone: “ hello, I’m calling from the Waldorf Astoria peacock alley regarding your reservation today?”
Me: “yes?”
Woman on phone “ oh I was calling because I see you booked for the Alice in wonderland experience, but we are no longer offering it.”
Me: “ok?”
*And at this point I anticipated an apology or attempt to make up for this since the theme was a reason why I wanted the reservation.*
Woman on phone: “ok, then we are confirmed for your reservation today at 2pm”
Fast forward to our arrival at 2pm:
We are seated and once our waiter took our orders; the hostess came back to our table and told us
“I should have told you this before you were seated, but we have another event at 3:30 so this tea time will need to be only for the reserved time which will end at 3:30”
My response was to look at her and just say “okay”
She then said “thank you” turned and walked away.
I’d like to preface the waiter was amazing and did a great job and everything served was delightful.
It doesn’t erase the fact that I made reservations for a particular theme and wasn’t informed that it was no longer available until 3 hours prior to my reservation.
There was no apology or attempt to make up for the theme not being available.
Or that my party was rushed because there was another event.
I’m appalled by the experience, I certainly did not expect it from the Waldorf Astoria. I am disappointed to say the least

I had the pleasure of enjoying afternoon tea at the hotel a month ago. The service was excellent, and the hotel itself was absolutely gorgeous. The chicken dish I ordered was delicious. However, the desserts, pastries, and tea served for the high tea were satisfactory but not outstanding—they were akin to regular desserts and small bites that one might find elsewhere. I hope the hotel considers using real flowers instead of plastic ones, as this would enhance the overall ambiance.

The service is phenomenal!! We ordered Caesar salad with chicken, we also ordered Risotto. Both were really good, the Caesar salad though is a staple every time we go. They surprised us with a red velvet cake and a sparkler at the end when they saw my friend wearing her graduation gown, it was the sweetest gesture, they totally made our night!! Thank you!

Amazing food. We loved the ambience.! Totally recommend it. We were here for dinner as well as for breakfast. They had good menu options for both the times. I have attached dinner n breakfast menus from when we went.
Kids friendly too. Staff were very welcoming to kids and conversations. Our toddler loved the experience there, sitting around in couch 🛋️ or tables..
We missed to get tea party reservations. They were booked for 2 months out. Something to watch for next time we plan to visit.!
