Caltons Chinese Restaurant

New Caltons as they recently renovated. We tried this the other night as they seem to offer the more premium chinese food vancouver experience. The food is a lot more pricey here but I did enjoy the dishes. We ordered the bitter melon with beef (good taste and beef was of higher quality), yee mein (just okay but if you order the seafood it comes with a lot of scallop and shrimp), green beans with pork (green beans were cripsy and tasted good). Each dish was at least $20. They should consider lowering their price a bit if they want to attract more customers.

First time in Calgary and this place came highly recommended and let me tell you it did not disappoint the food was amazing! Appreciated their uses of herbs in their lobster dish it was succulent and delicious 🤤

Ok yes I know I’m showing you pictures of my leftovers which is probably a huge faux pas. But, the food is so good I never remember to take pics when we get it and I REALLY wanted you to have a visual reference. This is take-out reviewed only.

Caltons has THE BEST mushroom egg foo young. Period. It has a gravy on top that is the perfect compliment to the tasty cloud of eggy goodness. I have ordered take-out for just that dish.

Their Peking pork chop is sweet and tangy and worth a chopstick battle for who gets the last piece. The pea shoots in garlic (earth’s best vegetable) is a decent take.

Salt and Pepper squid slaps, even if a bit mild. Any of the “Chef’s Dishes” have been awesome. I saw recently in an online menu they do dim sum and I’d like to eat in and try that. The prices have gone up post-plague (like everywhere) but are still reasonable. One of our “go to’s”.

It was my first time to visit Caltons. My family highly recommended this place for our family reunion dinner. The food was very good and the service was excellent. The decor was not too fancy but it was acceptable. I was very impressed by their chef’s recommendations. Although it was kinda on the pricey side, but my overall experience makes it worth a try. This is a must try if you crave for some high quality Chinese food in Calgary.

It’s an ok dim sum restaurant, not crowded as others, no need to line up.. food quality & price are decent.. mom likes it as their food is not too salty as the other restaurants, but they seems lack of waiters ..

Came her for Dim Sum on Sunday. It was fairly busy. Average price per dish was $7-8. Getting pricey. Service was pretty good. The food was average, not good enough to deserve a 4 star for flavor. Near the end of our meal we were still waiting on 3 more items. Didn't seem like it was going to come if we haven't asked about it.
