Fun to stop by the USDA farmers market to lunch while out and about sightseeing. My friends had the pizza and bulgogi rice bowl while I had a lamb burger. It was all delicious and so convenient!

We felt so lucky to exit the metro at Smithsonian to find this farmers market. We had amazing empanadas, ripe peaches, and smoothies made with real fruit. Anyone in DC on a Friday should find this market.

Every time I have visited DC on a Friday I go here for lunch. Today I had a goat burger, spicy pork empanada and a ripe farm peach. The only suggestion would be to add some benches or picnic tables under the trees to eat at

This farmers market on the National Mall has local produce and freshly prepared food and beverages you can enjoy at a table or picnic-style on the grass, with blankets provided. There are also interesting special exhibits. Fridays, May through October, from 9-2. A good place to visit before the museums open, have lunch, or pick up fresh fruit, vegetables and other items to take home. Located near the Smithsonian Metro station.

Wow! I'm impressed with the number of vendors and the broad selection. Even found two vegan options for lunch. I'll be back next Friday for sure. Lots of friendly people and lots of seating. Free water too compliments of USDA.

Now this is the place to be if you like great foods and drinks too! You have tourist, government employees, and general Washingtonians at this market. They have free samples, raffles, educational exhibits, fresh produce, and breads. There's also music. I won a nice USDA tote bag from a raffle. I also received a meat thermometer, which I really needed and learned how to properly use it. Go check them out! They open at 10:00 am on Fridays. They are at the Smithsonian Metro stop behind the elevator.

Great place to eat lunch and buy unique items. My favorite food is PUDDIN the Cajun Food Truck and the teens love the Pizza.
