Very cool mineral museum with lots of great stuff for RockHounds young and old. We have been back to do more mineral collecting in the mine dump. The kids love seeing their new finds under the UV lights!

I respect this business, but I just found out if you take your under-two-year-old this place, they'll make you pay, but won't let you do anything! They'll yell at you and they'll say your kid won't understand anything going on (not true, young kids are smarter than you give them credit for) and the staff will talk over and disrespect you! Unacceptable behavior. I'm telling all of my friends and family, and you're losing decades of potential patrons.

Was awesome! I really really enjoy rocks and minerals so getting to look at a whole bunch then collect some of my own were awesome! Plus the people who work there are super, super nice and shared some knowledge with me as I wandered through.

I didn’t like this place because of the bee problem. I am still bored because of the fake fluorescent. They have bees that come and don't take care of them. They had a little replica of a mine. If you think that was fun, it was not. They had a norm of someone named Sam. Don't get me started on him. Beware of the boredom.

Aside from this being a great place to bring kids, the Franklin Mineral Museum is an educational treasure trove for anyone interested in New Jersey history, geology, mineralogy, and insights into the lives of the people who worked in the mines.

But even if you are casually interested, visit Franklin and you will never look at that tin plated bucket the way again.

Really great experience, lots of fun. Huge museum of many minerals and artifacts from the area and the staff are very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about what they do. The rock field outside is awesome, as you can find your own rocks and test them to see if they can glow in the dark. Great way to spend a day!

We learned quite a bit at this local museum. My daughter thought it was great (except some outdated dino science). She had a blast digging through the mineral dump. And it was a relief to not have to spend a fortune because the gift shop was reasonably priced.
