The Worst school in Riyadh!
Very unprofessional staff, its very hard for the parent to communicate with the management team or the teachers.
I would never recommend the school to anyone.

I don’t recommend this school to anybody, It is downright a disgrace!
First, the staff treat students very poorly. They are also very uncooperative and don’t take take parents concerns seriously. Don’t even think about calling and complaining as they will not do anything and will tell you that if you don’t like it you can leave. Very rude!
The teachers treat the students horribly. They have completely demolished their confidence and constantly make them think they’re not intelligent enough! My daughter has come home crying too many times because of her teachers words.
Both my daughter and son have faced severe bullying, my son especially. The students have very poor behavior and are insanely bad influences. My son in grade 2 and many of his classmates constantly skipped classes and the teachers would have no idea. Children would just wander around school with no supervision. They’re too young to be learning all these things and the staff did a horrible job of making sure they’re safe and actually in the classroom.
Overall, putting my kids in this school was one of my biggest regrets and was a horrible experience for both me and them. For your own good, don’t enroll your kids here. I truly hope that the school takes my complaints into account and does something about this.

HORRIBLE SCHOOL, DO NOT ENROLL!! The teachers treated the student with no respect, insulting, and simply disregarding their opinions.
My daughter, who’s currently a middle school, faced bullying from not only her classmates but from her teachers. when we confronted the principal, she told us she would help in anyway but simply ignored us.
The teachers are apathetic, and simply did not care for the well-being of any student, only caring about the school name. No extra curriculares were offered to my daughter even after being promised several times!!
The building is dirty, horrible and bad environment overall!!! Would not recommend sending your daughter!! Don’t make the dawn mistake I did. My daughter was very unhappy.

This is the worst school in Riyadh I don’t recommend any body to put their children in this school, the teachers are horrible. And Alaa is the worst teacher she is so rude and and never make us do anything!! The school is using us.

My daughter is currently in Downe House Riyadh. The is possibly the worst school in Riyadh.
1. The school does a horrible job sharing with the parents the curricular calendars. And what exactly is being taught to our kids.
2. School and parents communication: there is zero communication between teachers and parents. My emails being ignored… when asked about the curricular calendar, nothing was given. Again, we dont know what is being taught in school, if anything?
3. Mom Group chat: in the Moms group chat when asked a question about what the homework is? What is being taught? What will the final be about? Everyone is clueelesss. Yes there are revision sheet and yes there is the schedule of the final for each class but when helping my daughter study for a final she said she’s never been taught this before?? And all the other moms are saying the same thing “the kids were never taught this before”
4. Treatment towards kids: the school is extremely harsh with kids. They treat the children as criminals. Constantly being rattled over the smallest things. Punishing mass number of kids. Zero patients with kids. Being an employee at an elementary school requires patients and understanding.
When there is an issue between students at school there is little to no effort being made to try to understand the student. There is no voice for the young students.
My daughter was accused by another student for doing something which wasn’t true, she came to me crying. The teachers/ staff didn’t give her the opportunity to speak her truth. She was punished and was crying about it for days every time it was brought up.
I’m not sure if the staff/teachers are racist towards saudi kids? Are going through culture shock and still trying to adjust to saudi? But best believe I’m not sticking around to find out.

I write my experience so far in detials (I don’t like to write after short time of experience but people who putting 1 or 2 starts are underestimating the school for nonsense reason).
Duration of experience: (1 month + the time I apply for my daughter offer).
N. of student: 1 – girl (above year 4)
I have been during Ramadan 2022 looking for a school for my daughter and I manged to put a full report for 12 private schools close to my home. In the report I needed to include details about (fees, afterschool clubs, trips, subjects, N. of students in the class, PE, discipline etc. )
Here I state what I like the most about the school:
1- When I apply, there were a good attention to my daughter’s ability in the English language. The test they did is not like other schools, it was a professional test that took around 3 hours. This gave me that the school administration care about the student and “not thinking only about the financial benefits”. I contacted the school to give me a brief about my daughter’s results and they kindly respond and give me everything in details and I so much appreciated it.
2- The school building is so well equipped in all aspects, classes, play area and so many details they consider for children at different age.
3- I do care about skills such as: cooking, learning language, gardening, etc and It was in my list during my search for a school. I found most of these skills free during the school day in fact, everyday only at Downe House Riyadh.
4- Homework for any subjects all at school, my daughter never brings any HW home.
5- (Projects) in this month, they asked my daughter to do a recycle project and the teacher emphases not to ask parents to buy anything only use materials from home which I find it very respectful for parents (time, energy and money).
6- Time the school day start from 8:00 a.m. until 4:15 p.m. (it suits me because I used to pay for private school that start at 6:30 until 1:00(I think 6:30 is too early+ at 1:00 when my daughter came she was very tired, she had many HW and as a working mother I have not come home yet which I found it hard to (control) by keep her from using iPad or wasting her time on other things) so, last year, I always wanted a school that create a friendly environment has everything (lessons, HW, other skills and PE) which make sense for me to keep my daughter until 4:15 in this school. ITS WORTH IT!! (Hope people who want short day can understand). It also makes your child free after coming home to play and share you his/her day details.
7- The school administration gives a parent handbook which includes every little detail about contacting, uniform, policy etc. There is also an email contact and WhatsApp group.
8- In the time of going out home people who taking your child should provide details to grant an access card.
9- By the way no books in the bag carried everyday which is something I find it excellent (only keeping books at school). Again, during my search, I did not find this feature in many school (sadly).
10- The Arabic and Islamic curriculums both applied according to the Saudi education ministry.
11- Last thing, Downe House Riyadh is the only private school that offered to accept my second child who is a special need child (they discuss his plan with patients, request him to come to school and offer him a place) but I could not enroll him for personal reason.
I hope this review helps parents who are looking for a school to their kids.

This is a really nice school, my grandchildren go there and they always have an amazing time. But one thing that is really hard for them is to stay till 4pm. All the other schools start at 7 am - 11/12 am. This is the right amount of school time for a child. Please adjust or change your school timings. Thanks!
