Review for St. Nicholas' Church:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
In the midst of architectural marvels, St. Nicholas' Church stands with a quiet dignity. While the surrounding edifices may often steal the spotlight with their grandeur, this church exudes a charm that captivates those who take a moment to truly appreciate it. Its beauty is in its subtlety, beckoning visitors with its serene aura and timeless elegance. It's a reminder that sometimes, the most profound experiences are found in places that might not shout for attention but simply wait for the discerning eye to recognize their worth.
Just like St. Nicholas' Church, we often overlook the quiet moments in our lives that offer true clarity and growth. As an international remote personal trainer and life coach, I believe in celebrating these moments, understanding that greatness often lies in simplicity. It's the underappreciated gems that often hold the most profound insights. So, take a pause, step inside, and let St. Nicholas' guide you to a moment of reflection. 🌍💪🏼🕍.

Great church with very nice interior. Great place for worship and taking break from running around town.

I have seen some really neat views from above.
There's always this unexplainable itch in me to visit a towering landmark every time I travel somewhere. Wherever the wind drowned out the city hustle and bustle and the sun is at its utmost silence and the street lights below twinkled and dimmed and twinkled again as if trying to talk me through standing upright and just jump away through the railings and fly away to play along with them, you can bet your ass I have left my mark there. I have been to one of the sky restaurants in Jakarta, I went to some hills above the clouds in Eastern Java at dusk, I visited the tallest skyscrapers in Tokyo and Yokohama, I even climbed 220 feet of stairs just to see the skyline of Saxony in a glimpse.
Somehow none of those made me shudder as hard as entering this sanctuary.
Place was wide as god's green earth and twice as shiny, yet it was so quiet. Upon entering the building I was greeted by dozens and dozens of angels and saints engraved on every walls, pillars, tabernacles, and on the ceiling so it looked like I'm flying with them as much as they are flying with me.
I reached my equilibrium without stepping on a single flight of stairs. I felt like I'd done enough, my life was complete. If I died in this building right then, that moment, it'd be perfectly fine.

The exterior of St. Nicholas Church immediately captures attention with its grandeur and intricate details. The facade, adorned with statues, reliefs, and ornate embellishments, is a feast for the eyes. The twin towers, reaching skyward, make for an iconic silhouette on Prague's skyline.
Stepping inside, one is greeted with a breathtaking display of Baroque opulence. The interior of St. Nicholas Church is an exquisite symphony of gilded ornaments, frescoes, and elaborate stucco work. The soaring ceilings, adorned with magnificent paintings, create a celestial ambiance that lifts the spirit.
The intricate details of the church are captivating. From the meticulously carved wooden pews to the stunning altar and pulpit, every element exudes craftsmanship and artistic excellence. The play of light through the stained glass windows adds a touch of ethereal beauty to the space, casting vibrant colors that dance upon the walls.

We randomly arrived and there was a Choir festival with amazing music. If that happens to you, it will be an amazing experience, if not, well, it is a pretty church.

The original Gothic Parish church of Saint Nicholas which dated from the 13th century, stood on the site of the present church. Sometime after 1620, it was given to the Jesuits, and the parish transferred to St. Václav’s Church. In 1628, they opened a primary school and a junior secondary school.[3]
In the second half of the 17th century the Jesuits decided to build a new church designed by Giovanni Domenico Orsi. A partial impression of the original planned appearance of the church is provided by the Chapel of St Barbara, which was built first so that mass could be celebrated. Old Saint Nicholas was demolished and in 1673 the cornerstone laid for the new church.[3] The church was built in two stages during the 18th century. From 1703 till 1711 the west façade, the choir, the Chapels of St Barbara and St Anne were built.
Count Wenceslaus Kolowrat-Liebsteinsky (1634 – 6 October 1659) from the prominent Czech House of Kolowrat was the largest patron of The church of St. Nicholas. He donated his entire estate, worth 178,500 gold, for the construction of the church and the adjacent buildings in Prague in Malá Strana.

Absolutely beautiful church. It wasn’t too crowded, which gave us time to sit down and admire the artwork and architecture. There was a lot of information readily available so you could read and learn more about the church’s fascinating history.
