A fantastic Botanical garden we planned our trip around. The exhibits and plants were well maintained. Looking at the map the area of the park was massive but the gardens only seemed to utilize less than half the land. I am curious to see if they plan to expand the exhibits. We went in the fall so the rose garden and a few other plants were already gone. It's probably best to visit the gardens in May, June or July. All in all it was a great trip and if you are visiting Montreal I cannot recommend it enough.
A struggle for the disabled. The lanterns on the water were wonderful but the walk was much longer then thought to get to it.
The path in the Chinese garden is a lot of broken up large stones with large cracks between them. Very nice to look at but for someone disabled they are a tough to walk on. The low lighting also makes it hard to choose your footing. I personally have weak ankles and on a good day do not need a cane, but during this walk I rolled my ankle. It wouldn’t be bad if the large gaps had not also caused me to stab a rock into the side of the foot. I feel like there also could have been some sitting areas, like benches, for people to have a rest after a long walk or to admire the beauty of the garden.
There is very little going on during this walk till the Chinese garden. Some mini light shows in the trees but beyond that it was a lot for just one area.
When leaving I found the disabled door out locked. I am unsure if I had to call someone to come open it but getting through the turning gate was a bit hard..
If I was more prepared and knew if there was a way to go right to the lights maybe it would of been easier on me. Maybe. But it was still very magical despite all the pain.

The whole garden was amazing, it's very big and you could see a lot of species of plants and trees. I heard about the light show between September and October but thought it would be like a moving lights show, but it was just an exhibition on the Chinese garden, looked great still but I was a little disappointed about that. Overall, it's a great place to walk and spend your time.
The botanical garden was absolutely gorgeous, we attended for the Halloween event but managed to make our way around the grounds, seeing the different gardens and learning about varying cultures, Including some learning about the first nations people.
The flowers and scenery were stunning and well kept, the only thing I would recommend is to bring a coat as it's a big walk and very brisk. But still a 10/10 visit for me and my friends 😊

My boyfriend and I recently attended the Night Light Show at the Botanical Garden of Montreal, and it was nothing short of magical. This annual event is a mesmerizing journey through different cultures illuminated by a stunning play of light and botanical wonders.
The beauty of the displays was absolutely breathtaking. It’s the perfect setting for a romantic evening, and we found ourselves completely enchanted by the ambiance.
One of the standout features of this experience is its affordability, making it accessible to a wide range of visitors. Additionally, the ample on-site parking is a rarity in Montreal and was greatly appreciated.
We also took the opportunity to explore the Botanical Garden before Night Fall, and it’s like wandering through an outdoor museum. This year, the focus was on Chinese and native cultures, accompanied by a quick history lesson about the indigenous nations that inhabited Quebec, especially Montreal, before colonization. The incorporation of chants, light shows, smoke effects, music, and special effects added a layer of depth to the experience.
I can’t recommend this event enough. It’s a truly unique and memorable way to spend an evening. Make sure to visit the garden before nightfall to fully appreciate the wonder that is the Night Light Show. Don’t miss out on this breathtaking experience! 🌌🌿🌟

We got there on a rainy day but it was an experience on its own. It was absolutely stunning and will definitely visit again. Make sure you set time aside because it's a bit of a walk. Would prefer to come during early hours of the day to avoid the crowd.
Parking is nearby as well. There isn't ample space but you could always park by Olympic stadium and walk across.

Beautiful garden. Unfortunately we had only planned to spend about 2-3 hours here, and due to time we never got through it all. I would definitely recommend planning at least a half a day maybe even longer. So many different plants and flowers to see, all artfully arranged. It is a fantastic garden. This would also be a great place to see multiple times a year just to see how it changes. Or different times a day. The flowers were lovely, in full bloom when we went. Plenty of places to take pictures, sit and enjoy the outside, or take a stroll among nature. We went during the week, early, and it wasn't too busy, however the parking lot was full when we left.
