Brilliant if small museum focussed on the pre-Colombian art of South America. Beautiful pottery and textiles from different indigenous groups. Lovely building. It’s a small museum so will only take around 1 hour- 1.5 hours to get around. Worth a trip if you have free time in Santiago however cost for tourists is 5 times the price for Chilean citizens (!!!) was around $10 which was expensive for how small the museum is so will depend on if you are price sensitive!

Possibly the best museum in the world, definitely the best in Chile. Disclaimer: I love Pre-Columbian art & history. The sheer number and variety of artifacts is astounding. You’ll see things here you won’t see anywhere else on Earth. This is a must-visit spot in Santiago.

We went before the national holiday. They were closing in 30 mins but the kind person let us in for free to visit the first floor. Very enjoyable

A must see stop in Santiago if you are at all interested in Latin American history. This museum tells the story of the time before the Spanish conquered South America. It tells the story of the people who lived here, their lives, and their culture. Absolutely amazing museum.

This is a high class, high quality museum. The exhibits are well put together similar to what you'd see at any world class museum. The architecture of the building is tastefully done. There's English on the majority of the plaques. Unlike other museums there is a fee for this one of 10,000 CLP for foreigners. There's also artefacts you can see here which aren't available anywhere else. Like 7000 year old mummies..
