The visitors are not acting right. Almost none of them neither read the signs nor respect the rules. There are thousands of butterflies gathering here starting from July and they rest until September, before flying to Island to give birth. So forcing them to fly away by disturbing them means harming them ! Silence and respect is mentioned everywhere in order to ensure that our children and grandchildren will also be able to observe these beautiful butterflies! So please follow the rules and respect the nature!

no butterflies in october but entry fee still required . better free woodland walks in the uk
The walk is one way, on a crowded day not very pleasant. Waiting on People to make a picture in the burning sun. We saw a lot of butterflies, but all the same. The walk througt the valley is very nice with a lot of nice photomoments.
Too early for 'buterflies' but we were amazed to see crabs half way up a mountainside and ghekos at the top! Lovely spring dappled shade and the gurgle of the streams made our day. Btw we counted 313 steps from entrance to top and 220 from entrance to bottom, so that's 1,066 for the round trip, unless you know better!
Shady and beautiful! Definitely worth a visit. You're either going uphill or downhill so not suitable for people with mobility issues, wear trainers!
