It is a beautiful place to visit, but go there on a nice weather because the sky makes the river blue, on a, bad weather it's green and less beautiful in that color. I went many times and it was accessible fast, not to much wait for an photo

Great view of the Alps without the crowd. The lookout is a 20 min hike from the parking lot. The hike is moderate and can be done with sneakers if it doesn’t rain. The trail is muddy so can be slippery after rain. The view is amazing and very few people go up the train even in bright sunny weather. There are benches so you can bring food and do picnic also. You can walk along the lake and enjoy great views without the hike.
Old citadel situated above the city, very well preserved. Nice to visit any time of the day, but in the evening feels magical, especially during winter time.
Beautiful, imposing castle in the middle of the Old Town Füssen. A bit up a hill, super well-preserved picturesque facade. Sadly its interior was closed to visitors. Gallery opens 13 to 16 hs.

Hoch oben, weit sichtbar, auf einem Hügel über der Altstadt von Füssen liegt das Hohe Schloß. Das gotische Burgschloß gilt als eine der best erhaltenen Burganlagen aus dem Mittelalter. Sie geht auf das Jahr 1291 zurück und war die ehemalige Sommerresidenz der Bischöfe von Augsburg.
Heute beherbergt es das Finanzamt und ein Museum. Bemerkenswert sind die Fassaden im Schloßhof. Sie sind mit wunderschönen Ilusionsmalereien verziert. Es gibt einen Wehrgang, von dem man den weit sichtbaren Torturm besteigen kann. Bis in das 6. Stockwerk, mit einem fantastische Blick auf Füssen und Umland. Zum Hohen Schloß gehört auch die Veitskapelle. Im Museum befinden sich die Staatsgemäldesammlungen. Ein Highlight ist der Rittersaal mit einer geschnitzten und reich verzierten Kassettendecke. Etwas versteckt gibt es auch noch einen Terrassengarten mit allerlei Kräutern zu entdecken.

A calm and nice castle on the hill in the town. It is now an art museum. I could walk to the square of the castle but not inside of the building itself. It seems the castle is only open for a limited time in a day, so check the information before you visit the place. The walkway between the castle and the river and the one behind the castle were also great spots to take a rest.
Wenn man in Füssen ist sollte man aufjedenfall den Lechfall und das Hohe Schloss besuchen. Die ehemalige Sommerresidenz der Fürstbischofe, heute eine Galerie der Bayerischen Staatsgemäldesammlung. Sowohl der Turm, der Hof, der Terrassengarten und Baumgarten sind Sehenswert, man fühlt sich sofort in Mittelalter und man kann hier einen schönen Tag in der Natur verbringen.

Great short hike up to the ruins which provided an awesome view. Warning it is steep.
Sehr schönes Schloss mit raffinierten malerischen Details an der Fassade des Schlosses! Ein super FOTO-OBJEKT!!
Man hat auch einen guten Blick auf die Höhenzüge Tegelberg, Säuling, etc.
WCs sind kostenfrei und sauber.

Fussen city center is a beautiful rural city with all the beautiful shops, restaurants and cafes that meet the needs of its visitors
Beautiful castle ruins with exceptional view over Hopfen Lake. It is a fair hike and can be a little slick in wet weather. Can be accessed by the path starting in the middle of Hopfen at the top of Burgweg, or the longer route on a macadam road just past Kostenpflichtig Parking area.
Very worth the visit. You can tell they are working on improving the site for safety and access.

Beautiful view of the Alps
Nothing special about ruins but nice view of Hopfen lake.
Unbelievable view from the top, but also unbelievably steep climb. Worth every drop of sweat.

The water is clear blue and the place is very beautiful. There is a small bridge and from there you can walk to Füssen in 10-15 minutes.
There are 3 or 4 parking lots around it. The entrance is free.

Nice, quaint, pedestrian street in the middle of this old town full of shops, restaurants and beautifully painted buildings
I spent a good 3.5 hours in the Stadt Museum. Got a printrd booklet on loan to read about each collection and room in the museum to make the best of the visit. If you are interested in the Middle ages and music it is a must see.
Beautiful, nice and relaxing place. There is a nice and easy hike, or a parking for a car.
Nice Town to walk
The Lechfall and gorge is a lovely spot, but the waterfalls are not natural, rather they are symbolic of the terminus of one of the last wild river landscapes in Europe. If you went into Austria you'd find a braided river bed where the river is allowed to run its own course (for the most part).
The Lech River changes character from season to season and sometimes from day to day. You may arrive and find a stunning and peaceful turquoise-colored river that is translucent and breathtaking in beauty or you may see a raging torrent of muddy water carrying tree stumps from Tyrol.
This is also a stop on the old Roman road (Via Claudia Augusta). You can find the marker if you continue up the path toward Bad Faulenbach. This spot is a must-see if you love nature.
The gorge is unique in character and a lovely spot to take photographs. Walking is recommended during high season because there is only a limited number of parking spots (about 10-15).

Nice waterfall with very good access from the downtown area. There are many good walking paths in the area that are well marked.
Amazingly beautiful place! Just a short walk form the Fussen city center. I have no idea why the water is the color it is, but it is gorgeous!! I thought the photos I had seen had been edited, but no. The water really is this gorgeous blue/green color. If traveling to Fussen, I would highly recommend going to this spot!
