Beautiful little town! Colourful houses and a very nice square. There are terraces and it was busy, but not too crowded. We had dinner in a restaurant. Delicious food and kind service, felt as at home.

For all fans of timbered houses. Well worth a visit. Monday is a quiet day with tourist info and several restaurants closed.

Great town to visit for authentic German vibes. There was an amazing icecream and coffee shop in town.

One of the most beautiful town in Germany.
If you are in Frankfurt, it's 38 min away via train and yoi can experience this amazing colorful town.

A charming escape to the past! Idstein Altstadt enchants with its picturesque cobblestone streets and well-preserved historic buildings, offering a glimpse into centuries past. What sets it apart is its authentic atmosphere, with just the right balance of local charm and tranquility, making it a refreshing escape from overly touristy destinations. A must-visit gem for those seeking genuine timeless beauty.

The most charming place I’ve ever visited. So many half timber houses. I’m so grateful to have been able to visit this beautiful town. At 10am, on a winter day, there were no tourists around.
