Amazing view.. Ancona is a beautiful city
Under repair the staircase.Understand renovation is necessary but it does spoil the majesty of the monument and the fantastic staircase behind it!
In piazza Stracca si affaccia un'interessante palazzo signorile del XV secolo, palazzo Lunari, che agli inizi del 1900 venne trasformato in scuola elementare intitolata al patriota anconetano Guglielmo Baldi; proprio da allora l'edificio è conosciuto in città come Palazzo Baldi. Al suo interno si trova la Deputazione di Storia Patria delle Marche e il Museo civico del Risorgimento (che venne inaugurato da Palermo Giangiacomi nel 1919) quando si trovava sotto il Tribunale. Sono custodoti tanti cimeli molto interessanti che coprono un vasto periodo, solo per citarne uno, il proclama del generale austriaco Pfanzelter, che dopo svariati inviti alla cittadinanza a consegnare qualsiasi tipo di armi, si vedeva costretto alla fucilazione di Antonio Elia. Ancona infatti, a partire dal 1849, dovette subire l'occupazione austriaca per ben dieci anni e subire la dura legge marziale, violenze e sopraffazioni di ogni tipo; come quella che un'ora dopo il tramonto non potevano radunarsi piu di cinque persone, un periodo tristissimo per tutta la città.

La statua di Papa Clemente XII è un'opera settecentesca (1735/1738) dello scultore Agostino Cornacchini molto attivo a Roma, la curiosità sta nel fatto che la statua nelle intenzioni di Luigi Vanvitelli doveva essere posta sull'attico dell'arco Clementino da lui disegnato, ma ci si accorse che il notevole peso della statua in marmo non era in grado di essere sostenuto dalla struttura dell'arco. Pertanto il Senato anconetano decise di porla momentaneamente in piazza Grande, l'idea fu ben accolta dagli anconetani che la statua è lì rimasta fino ai giorni nostri e il nome della piazza divenne Piazza del Papa.

Non c'è molto da dire, questa è una piazza con parcheggio vicino al centro città, con le attività commerciali tutto intorno
A historic square of Verona sadly transformed into an open market. Good for tourists, bad for the image of such a beautiful historic city.
It feels like the end of the world. One side of the stairs was renovating, but other can be used to get to the beach.

Das ehemalige Haupteingangstor der Stadt Ancora wurde im Stiel des Barock gebaut. Schön anzuschauen aber auch nicht mehr. Von hier aus ergeben sich schöne Blicke auf dem Hafen sowie der Mole Vanvitelliana und weiter ins historische Centro.
One of the most recognised places in Ancona . There is such a beautiful panorama from this War Memorial, and memorial by itself looks amazing. Downstairs is a nice rock's beach where you can swimming or chilling.
Bella struttura, anche se tenuta un po' male. Ottimo per fare una passeggiata a piedi
Passando a piedi nel parco abbiamo trovato la polveriera con il cancello chiuso. Peccato. Nessuna informazione sull'orario o come visitarla. Vale comunque la pena di fare due passi fino al faro.
Una delle piazze centrali di Ancona dove si staglia il rinoceronte di Trubbiani....detto questo è molto spaziosa e ci vengono fatti numerosi eventi. Peccato però che la pavimentazione si sta sbriciolando in.piu punti....
Sehr schönes Gebäude mit historischem Wert. Schön erhalten und es ist auch möglich auf das Gebäude zu gehen über Treppen und sowohl das Gebäude wie auch die Aussicht zu genießen ist von dort sehr schön. Es ist halt ein bisschen schade, dass es so alleine da steht und es nicht wirklich eine Erklärung zu der Zeit wo es entstanden ist gibt.
È una piazza che potrebbe entrare nel cuore degli Anconetani se trovasse una migliore risposta architettonica. Oggi è grande ma inutilizzata nella maggior parte dell'anno. Da evitare nei momenti di grande calura estiva. Calore e reverbero da spiaggia bianca.

Una statua bellissima del papa. Molto d'impatto sia di fronte che dal retro. Imponente e simbolo della piazza che sembrerebbe vuota senza
Torre civica non altissima e non si nota particolarmente da lontano o dall'alto. Oggi, domenica, non era visitabile. Facciata bella nella parte inferiore, meno d'impatto sopra
Bel parco, tranquillo e piacevole per una passeggiata. C'è da scarpinare un po' ma ne vale la pena. Molto punti panoramici in cui fermarsi e godere del paesaggio senza mancare qualche foto.

The castle was closed when I arrived there, but the enclosing area was very nice and lively. The park is very dense, and it has various watch points from where you can enjoy the view of Horizon and the sea. In the evening the sun set is also a add on.

Unico stabile rimesso a posto all'interno del parco comunale del Cardeto, la struttura è tenuta molto bene ed è utilizzata per saggi musicali, convegni e presentazioni di libri. È un peccato il fatto che nel retro della struttura vi siano depositi ante bellici abbandonati a sé stessi

The doorway of Pia, that is the gateway to enter the city of Ancona, is located near Lazzaretto of the at port of Ancona.
It is one of my favorite place to sit and enjoy the sundown. The spot is also a perfect point for sightseeing. There is cycling path along the road connecting the locality of Ugo Bassi and the city.

A long walk to the beach, to see monument near the sea
Beautiful monument at the edge of a cliff. There are some stairs to go down. I like to go there running and get to the ocean, the way back up is a really nice exercise.
The view from the top is amazing. And, I've heard that in a really clear day you can see Croatia (not sure about this)

Great walk down to the beach
We visited the war memorial on a very pleasant day. The view was amazing from the war memorial facing the sea. It is really worth a long pleasant walk from the center. I recommend going down the stairs behind all the way down to the sea if the weather is good.

Viel Vogelkacke und nicht allzu spektakulär. Dennoch ein schönes Plätzchen zum Entspannen.
