I donate. The canvassers need to change their approach. Stick to the facts. My call said it was from St Catharines but the caller said he lived in Vancouver. With so many scams it is important to assure donors you are legit. I did donate.

They are basically a scam!
The website would only let you increase your donation. You cannot cancel or decrease recurring payments. They don't answer the phone. And they have made it extremely difficult to cancel the donation over email. Volunteers are EXTREMELY pushy and they will lie to you about how easy the process would be to modify your donation.
Totally disappointed!

I have been donating to the organization since 2017. They send me their newsletter periodically. I'm impressed by their work and just glad I can be a little help. During the pandemic, I stopped my donation for a period because at that time I quit my full-time job. But I have restarted my monthly donation since I returned to work. If you ask me why I donate to them, I’ll say because this organization has been doing a great job of protecting the animals and we need to protect organizations like them

The "volunteers", instead of making you aware about how to you can yourself learn about the organization online and decide to donate, are very adamant to take your all your personal information and sign you up for monthly donations. I was told that $25 is the minimum amount for monthly donation. There is no option to donate one time. They lock you in for monthly donations and make it impossible to cancel them. No one picks up the phone and there is no option to cancel the donations online either. Very sketchy.

They will try to take your information, your time, and your money in a somewhat coercive manner. If you are not stupid, do not donate to them. I feel it is almost illegal and quite malicious.
I wish they would improve their humanity before appealing for animal protection. If they really want to appeal for animal protection.

Perhaps their on-the-ground canvasing needs review (sounds like it does), but let's not let one area that needs improvement tarnish what is an incredibly effective and important organization.

Also people need to recognize that often, non-profits have a very hard time attracting and retaining skilled labour and leadership and investing in expensive technology (i.e. managing donor payments). I find this especially true in wildlife/environment.

Dollar-for-dollar impact is high and available through their financial publishing. They partner with LOCAL animal rescue organizations to maximize impact. They aren't just platitudes that sound nice but have no actual on-the-ground impact.

About 5 years ago I had to stop or reduce my monthly donation (forget which one) due to some student loans I wanted to manage. It was easy and effortless.

I will continue to donate and support WAP and hope more do.

We were walking at Stephen Ave and was stopped by a “volunteer” who told us about this organization. We wanted do more research about this and walk away but this individual tried hard to manipulate us into giving our personal information and donate on the spot. I don’t have to go into detail. We felt very uncomfortable and the whole encounter felt like a scam. Seriously, train your volunteers to be respectful of other people’s rights to refuse. I would give no star in this review if given that choice.

It seems your organization has enough money to pay for expensive advertisement to attack the prime minister.
As far as I'm concerned /and I'm an animal lover, and even saver/ there are more important priorities for the goverment to take care of.
