Our real strength lies in the production based curriculum that we offer our students. One of our adages here at the school, is that the best way to learn how to make films, is to go out and make films. With that in mind, I as the equipment manager, am here to do what I can to facilitate the production of every student's films. At the San Francisco Film School you will be given the tools you need, as well as the knowledge and confidence to use them. I have had one of the worst experiences ever at this school. A few days ago, the school breached me and several other students confidentiality. They sent an email discussing very personal business (business that requires an authorization to be released) about each student while other students were cc'd. I was shocked, embarrassed and most of all disgusted by their lack of regard. I would encourage anyone who will listen to stay far away from this school. An apology isn't enough.

Quality instructors, hands-on experience; requires one to be self-sufficient, resourceful, creative, patient, mindful and goal oriented. Ultimately, keep your end goal and mind, network like crazy, use scalable projects, like take every project serious as if you are tryna win a reward or be recognized. The minus one star is based on last minute changes, make-up classes for holidays, campus open up until normal working hours, so utilizing the school space and it’s resources is limited. The school can also benefit from additional administrative and student support staff

I am attending SFFS for the 2023 school year as a virtual student and I am amazed that the process of learning Film can be done online. Trust the technology works and you're able to get hands on training throughout the year for LRP weeks. If learning film is something you want to do this school is ahead of the curve with their virtual technology and instructors! I am so happy that I joined.

I had a hard time with this school. I started in January 2020, so certain circumstances were out of their control. However they got remote classes up and running fast, which was very impressive.

I will say upon lengthy reflection this school isn’t what I expected. Unfortunately I was there during the hight of the pandemic so my opinion is highly affected by that. In saying that I was let down in some ways that the school did have control over and not so much in others. It was a hard time for everyone…

Overall the staff is knowledgeable and most are very enthusiastic. The school also gives the students lots of freedom and that makes for a very good experience. The school has high end equipment and they teach students to use all of it. The biggest draw for me to this school was the number of projects you work on over the course of the program, which is more than most courses. Unfortunately though there were some drawbacks and let downs. The teachers can be highly opinionated and stuck in their ways, which sometimes is not a good thing. However I did learn a good deal of things especially later in the course.

Overall I feel the school was ok and the staff seemed dedicated and were supportive, however like I said I was let down in some aspects.
