Lessons from Maria at Dance Factory were well worth it! Though I had some experience with dance, my now husband didn’t and even the first lesson was enough to build some of that comfort for him. We really looked forward to our lessons and living room dance practices were some of my happiest memories from the wedding planning process. Maria gave us a few simple steps and patiently practiced the steps with us until we felt great about it. If you’re getting married, don’t hesitate to take a few lessons at the Dance Factory! I used to take at School for Swans and I loved it!... teachers will push you but they're personal and nurturing. Every class is fun, and should leave you feeling sweaty and nicely worked out. Recitals were a highlight. Highly recommend.

We had the best time preparing for our first dance with Maria. She is a true professional and gave us a classy, elegant dance to show off as Mr. & Mrs. We had so much fun learning from her and dancing together, we are looking forward to taking more classes at the studio! My child and our friends’ children loved this school 20 years ago, and the Swan’s annual spring recital demonstrates that these wonderful professional instructors live to bring the joy of ballet to children and young adults. Highly recommended!

My husband and I worked with Maria for our first dance for our wedding. Each session was so much fun, and so helpful! Neither of us had any dancing experience, but she was very accommodating. For our first session, she had already listened to the song and had an idea of what our dance would look like, with our input of course. Highly recommend!

Just started a package. Terrific instructor, very nice, sunny studio. Learning steps takes focus and concentration, but it’s mostly just fun. It also introduces me to a whole new community.

Maria was our instructor and set us up for success for our wedding dance to a classic Bill Withers song. We took private lessons with her once a week for 2-3 months. As someone with two left feet, she made us comfortable but wasn’t easy on us with the critiques. We liked that, and it made us practice more at home. Once life calms down we hope to take more lessons with Maria in the future. She also set us up with another trusted instructor who focused on Bhangra, since we had a joint Indian/American wedding celebration. Thank you Maria and Dance Factory was such an awesome experience!

We loved working with Maria for our first dance! My now husband had no dancing experience, and I had a little but not in ballroom. We had never taken a dance class together. Working with Maria individually made the whole experience fun, and we were confident by the time we got to the dance floor. 3 lessons was the perfect amount! It was absolutely worth it for the photos, video, and experience of wowing our guests with our unexpected moves. Maria teaches you about 5 different moves that you can add in whenever you would like. She was so kind, made us feel comfortable, and I felt like she really cared about our success! Highly recommend.

An absolutely wonderful experience!!!!! The professionalism and instruction at the studio are more than worth the cost of lessons. I started off on day one terrified of dancing, to the point that I would turn down my own mother if she asked to go onto the dance floor. I was also starting this journey after some extremely tough times, both mentally and emotionally. Every class has been a joy. The instructors are wonderful people and care about the quality of instruction and the student's interests. I leave every lesson feeling like I am on top of the world and with a newfound confidence to dance.

My now husband and I had an amazing time creating our first dance and taking lessons here. We are not dancers by any means and Maria made each lesson super fun and easy to comprehend. We purchased a dance lesson package and Maria was our instructor. She is a phenomenal teacher and helped prepare us for our upcoming wedding. Maria gradually introduced us to more and more complex dance moves over time, ensuring we first felt comfortable before challenging us with more intricate spins and dips. My fiance' and I HIGHLY recommend Maria - she makes dance lessons fun and enjoyable, and we're much more confident going.into our first dance as a married couple. Thanks Maria!

I took my wife for the free trial as a birthday gift. It was possible that we would continue to sporadically attend after this initial visit. There was about 15 minutes of dancing instruction, which I have no complaints about, followed by a 30 minute high-pressure sales pitch. Fortunately that wasn't my only gift to my wife so we just joked and laughed through the whole pitch but the experience was quite predatory. The free trial is for people who know they want to continue with the dance studio. If you're just trying out dancing, this probably isn't the place for you.

This dance studio is the place to go if you're wanting to start learning basic ballroom or social dances, have a private lesson for personal learning, or even if you're wanting to learn more advanced moves and choreography! My wife and I danced competitively throughout college and we'd been looking for a dance studio ever since graduating and this space was exactly what we were looking for. The studio is large enough that even with a group and private lessons happening, we could come and practice on our own. The instructors are super nice, knowledgeable, and will help you reach your dancing goals! They also have social events happening all the time so you will get to see showcases and meet the other dancers around the studio too!

My daughter started dancing here last year and she loves it. She's learned so, so much in a year...I'm still amazed at how far she's come and is still going! All the dance teachers have amazing qualities with the kids to get fantastic results and I would definitely recommend this studio if you're looking for a dance home!

While both my wife and I had some experience in the performing arts (my wife is a musician, and I have experience in theater, band, and dance), it was clear we needed some professional help to get our wedding dance where we wanted it to be. Rebecca at Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Alexandria, VA, was excellent. She immediately was able to assess our strengths and weaknesses and helped meet us at our respective skill levels. She also listened to our song, and intrinsically knew exactly what kind of look and feel we wanted our dance to achieve. Best of all, rather than teach us a set choreography, Rebecca taught us how to properly lead, follow, and adapt to different dance floor sizes, meaning that every time we danced it ended up looking a little bit different, but also that we would be ready for anything when the actual day came. As our skill and comfort level improved, and we wanted to add a few more steps and moves into our routine, she not only incorporated more advanced training into our classes, she went out of her way to work with her studio for us to keep a “new student discount rate” for a few more classes when we asked for it (we had originally signed up for 6 lessons as opposed to 10 lessons, but she worked to keep the rate for an additional 3 lessons upon our request to give us the additional time needed). The first dance can be a stressful thing to think about prior to the wedding, but Rebecca helped us through our nerves and stumbles during practice. The day of the wedding, my wife and I walked into the reception with confidence and comfort, and not only had a lot of fun with our dance, but also looked really good doing it, at least according to our guests! None of this would have been possible with Rebecca’s skill, patience, and excellent ability to teach both how to lead and how to follow…thank you!

My fiancé and I decided to take lessons in order to have our first dance be steps other than a traditional sway. We had five lessons with our dance instructor Maria who was great! Maria was patient with us and helped us with understanding and learning the steps and made us feel confident going into our first dance. We liked how each lesson Maria would build a new step onto the dance while helping us to tune up the other steps already learned. Maria made it a fun and enjoyable experience for us. Our family and friends loved our first dance and we cannot thank Maria enough for helping us to have a wonderful first dance!

When I first started at Arthur Murray Alexandria I did as a way to get ready for my wedding. Then it turned into my therapy…Now it has turned into my family! The instructors are super friendly and always want to make their students feel welcomed. I highly suggest AM. If it’s for a wedding, a hobby, something to do..once you start you don’t want to stop.

Our favorite part of wedding planning was dance classes with Maria. She was patient, kind and made us feel so confident going into our first dance. We are so thankful for the time she spent with us and could NOT recommend more dance classes for any couple prior to the wedding.

I have been a regular client at Dance Studio Lioudmila for almost three years, taking both private and group lessons. It is a beautiful facility with a warm, talented staff and a friendly clientele.

The studio occupies the entire second floor of a stand-alone brick building in a quiet location with ample free parking, less than five minutes from the beltway. The entry stairs come up into the center of a remarkably large floor that is surrounded with windows and large mirrors, giving it an open, light-filled look. The wooden dance floor is in excellent condition, with great shock absorption and uniformity, and the right level of friction to support all levels of dancing.

The founders of the studio, Lioudmila and her husband Serguei, were champion dancers in their native Russia before coming to the U.S. Lioudmila has engaged a cosmopolitan group of instructors with Russian, Italian, American, and Latin backgrounds. All of them are accomplished dancers and many of them compete regularly. Most importantly, they are experienced teachers who are adept at working with students of all levels, making them feel welcome and secure in their classes.

The studio offers all forms of smooth, rhythm, and Latin dancing in both group classes and private lessons. It also offers monthly memberships that give you unlimited access to the group lessons and weekly dance parties at a great price. The studio caters to wedding couples as well. I have seen many of them over the past two years, and they always seem to enjoy their lessons.

Lioudmila has instilled her studio with elegance and refinement, as well as warmth and laughter. She makes her students feel that they are part of a dance family, where we all support each other. Many of her students are regulars who have been coming for years. Whether you’re just a beginner or an experienced dancer, you should visit this studio. I highly recommend it.

Maria was awesome! We signed up for the 5 dance package prior to out wedding to get ready for our first dance. We are super uncoordinated and my fiance was really nervous. We ended up having so much fun and feel completely prepared. Would highly recommend and sent the info along to our wedding planner as well so she could make recommendations.

I came into Arthur Murray Alexandria from a Groupon over 3 years ago and it has honestly changed my life. I’ve always loved dancing at clubs or with friends, but it never occurred to me that I could learn how to actually dance, until I stepped foot into their studio. The instructors are amazing and truly tailor their lessons to each individual’s goal, whether it be just to learn to social dancing or even compete in amateur competitions. The group classes are challenging and fun no matter what level you are at, and the people there are warm and welcoming. I have grown such an amazing dance family there over the last 3 years, and even through challenging times with Covid, the studio and its staff have adapted to meet all safety guidelines and still make dance just as fun as ever. They have social distanced lessons, group classes, and social hours in studio as well as being able to participate in all of those through zoom.
To anyone who is thinking of learning how to dance, all I can say is YOU CAN DO IT, you’ll wonder why you waited so long to try.

Love this place. Sad they don't have a competitive gymnastics team any more, but don't want to leave DDC. Judith & Jacob are AMAZING. The rooms & gym are fine, but it gets REALLY crowded btwn classes. Our daughter is in her 3rd yr of dance & gymnastics. Our son took gymnastics for ~18 months.

I have known Chris Collins for more than 40 years. As a dance studio owner myself, I have great respect for Chris and his talented faculty and staff. I would highly recommend this studio to anyone living in Alexandria, Virginia area.

I take lessons from Lioudmila, very professional and elegant teacher with attention to detail for people who want to get better. The floor is large and floats so easy on the feet and knees. The dance community is friendly and helpful. Great place to meet people with the same interests and have fun.

I spent nearly 15 years at CCDS and it’s provided me with some of my greatest childhood memories, lasting friendships, and a good introduction to hard work and dedication.

As a mom now I wish we lived closer to the studio so that my kids could have the same great experience I did.

We visit the Chris Collins Dance Studio several times per year from out of town, and the staff and students are so welcoming!!! We also share the competition stage with them, and the talent and friendliness of these kids is remarkable!!! So grateful to be able to spend time with staff and dancers from this wonderful studio!

I got to check out this studio for a workshop event and loved the studio. t It's really big inside with lots of parking spaces. The floors are amazing and fun to dance on. Teachers are very knowledgeable and bring famous champions almost every month. weather you are an advanced dancer or a beginner I highly recommend Alexandria Ballroom for dance classes.

This place is great. I've been taking lessons here for about a year and a half and I'm having best time of my life! The staff is great ! They take the time to get to know you and help you in any way they can even if you a tone deaf like me. I love the encouragement I get from the dancers that are clearly have been dancing for much much longer than I have. Occasioanlly one of the instructors play music too loud but the other instructors and management handle it very well.
Also it's probably the biggest dance floor in the area and when it's a lot of people there in the evening there's still a place for everyone to practice.
would definitely recommend for anyone of any age and skill level to come and give it a try.

Chris Collins Dance Studio is the most important thing in my 14 year old's life right now. She loves the people, the teachers and dancing there. It is like an extended family for her. I love that she is learning teamwork, discipline and has made friends for life at the studio.
