We love Bethesda Conservatory of Dance! My daughter has taken Creative Movement and Ballet/Tap 1 and just loves it. Miss Lex is an awesome and dynamic teacher and the classes are fun and engaging for the kids. Highly recommend!

My daughter has really loved taking hip-hop, lyrical dance and ballet at BCD. The teachers and staff are very supportive and enthusiastic!

My daughter participated in Ballet/Tap this year. The teachers are all very nice and fun. The kids learned two dance routines and performed at a HS theater in front of friends and family. This was the first time my daughter performed before a large audience. I checked in Colleen, the owner, about some strategies to help my daughter feel comfortable. She was very accommodating and gave my little one a tour of the theater, back stage, and the stage the day before the performance. I really appreciate the time she took out of her busy schedule to help my daughter. The recital was great and I'm very proud of my little one for her accomplishment. Update- I’m done fighting with the school owner at this point. Keeping below for reference for future parents. I’m very impressed with the school owner’s prompt response on social media ever since I wrote the review (while they are so busy during the entire week but can respond to this review momentarily ON the recital day). Wish the communication could be like this from the beginning. The owner sent me an email dated 5/13 saying that was when the schedule was communicated. I responded with screenshots with an email on 5/30 and a phone call on 6/1 to obtain more information as the email sent on 5/30 was not responded. During the phone call, we were told we are all set on the recital, which ended up as a wrong schedule.

The school responded saying the schedule has been communicated via multiple avenues. Just to update that we have NEVER received confirmation on scheduled performance. The recital tickets buying emails are sent almost everyday so we bought the tickets assuming we get to choose any of the available section. Again, no warning during the purchasing process to tell you only buy tickets for your show time. Due to the confusion, we were not sure how this works and how can kids just show up and perform on stage, I sent emails last week and this week without any response from school. I also called the school on Friday to confirm and was told everything is good to go and they “look forward to seeing us on Saturday “. As a result, we drove all the way and showed up on Saturday. It was a chaos and it took a long time to wait for staff’s response. For future customers who are considering this school, please be aware of these situations!

The school is like a scam. So not organized but only focus on getting the money. Strongly not recommend! We bought the tickets for recital, flowers, paid one month additional tuition to just be allowed to attend the recital. Since we moved one hour away from the area, we skipped the last few classes (due to distance) but still paid the full month tuition so the kid can do the final performance. On the performance day, we were told that we were not on the show and the actual performance time for us is the next day. This was never told to us before and no one mentioned it when we bought tickets for the recital. No one provided “verbal” communication on what time is the show and when should you come. We ended up paying hundreds and drove back and forth 3 hours with a grumpy kid who cannot perform.
Do not trust the school and staff. Make sure you are paying for the right things because all they care is to get you charged but whether or not you should be.

The leadership & instructors for this dance studio are excellent. We could not recommend it more highly. My daughter has been dancing there for a decade (first it was Ballet Petite, now Ovations.) She is always delighted to go to her dance classes & comes back feeling so accomplished and having had a great time. I've loved to see her progress and the joy that dance has brought to her life. We love Ovations!!

Ehh not perfect but still can be enjoyed

My daughter loves Bethesda Conservatory of Dance. The dance classes helped her a lot to express herself, to be less shy, more active, to work hard but also to have lots of fun. She is experiencing different dance styles. The teachers are very professional and care a lot about the well-being of the students.

My daughter loves to dance and has learned so much from Bethesda Conservatory of Dance. Colleen the owner, and all the teachers and staff are professional, engaging and caring. Colleen makes it a point to know every student and gives age appropriate and useful guidance. Its a wonderful place and my daughter would be there every if she could. I can't say enough great things about Bethesda Conservatory of Dance.

My daughter has been so incredibly fortunate to be a student at BCOD for the past 3 years. What a gift her time there has been! She has developed a true love for dance, and that stems from all the stress-free, caring and expertly crafted dance lessons. BCOD has a talent for hiring the very best teachers that develop a love for dance by getting to know their students, and teaching them the foundation they need to grow and flourish in all genres of dance. My daughter tells me that no matter what happens when she's an "adult", she wants to be a dance teacher and dance every day! That is a priceless joy for dance that we have BCOD to thank for! The studio is very centrally located and the lessons are an awesome value. The virtual lessons from home have been something that my daughter looks forward to every week. Even in this very challenging situation, BCOD teachers have kept their students close and the love for dance continues! Look no further for dance class; you have found the ultimate in everything that a dance studio can offer!

Our children have danced with BCOD for several years now. This is a welcoming, inclusive, warm studio that gets the best out of all types of dancers. We changed to this studio after a not-so-great experience at another area studio and we could not be more pleased!

I had my 5-year old's birthday at Rock Creek Dance Academy and it was a wonderful experience for her and all of her friends. The studio is set up nicely to accommodate the class, a party area, and a waiting area for parents and siblings. They also had extra ballet shoes for friends who didn't have them. The teacher was very professional and wore a tutu and really catered to this age group and kids with differing knowledge of ballet. She made everyone feel special. My daughter was thrilled at the end of class and immediately said she wanted to start taking class at this school instead of the one we go to. Thank you for creating such wonderful memories for us!

My daughter has loved her first two years of ballet. Classes are fun, mindful, and perfect for the local (Wyngate) dancer.

Awesome Dance Studio!

My 11-year old daughter has danced at Ovations since it opened, having taken a variety of classes at Ovations, including ballet technique, pointe, tap, hip hop, lyrical and jazz. The studio is great - the teachers motivate and inspire students to learn and reach their greatest potential. The studio's approach to classes allows young aspiring dancers to learn in a fun environment, while also offering serious and recreational options for older students looking to hone their skills. We highly recommend Ovations Studios.

Our girls have thoroughly enjoyed and grown through their dance classes, dance recitals, and participation in Ovations' musical theater productions. The company's new ownership has created a warm and nurturing (and safe!) environment for them to learn a variety of dance techniques and performance skills with fun and experienced teachers. My kids love Ovations!

We did a trial class with our small girl. I am not excited. The rooms are very clean, colorless, uninviting for a two year old girl...and the instructor made followed her program like a cd-player, rehearsed🤨
