This studio is amazing, they have many different styles of dancing and they teach very well to make you the best that they can. The results are incredible these girls (and boys) grow up to be really good dancers with good technique.
This school is truly gem of Sunnyside. The teachers/ staffs are working so hard and it works wonderfully. My daughter started dancing here when she was 4 and loves this school so much. Neither too strict nor too lenient, making it a very good choice.
If you are looking for dance classes for your child, this is the place. The teachers are all wonderful and nurturing. The studio is clean and safe. My daughter has been taking classes here since she was 4 years old and she is now 12. We travel across boroughs to come here for class.
Highly recommend this dance school for children and adults of all ages!
My daughter has been dancing with Yasko since Sunnyside Ballet opened over ten years ago. Yasko is a great teacher with a strong team behind her who all offer something different to our kids. The fundamentals are strong, the performances are amazing and it has been great to watch all the dancers grow & improve over the years. Yes, that happens at any number of dance schools in the area. What makes Sunnyside Ballet so special is that Yasko loves her students and they love her, it truly is a family. I am so happy that we found Sunnyside Ballet all those years ago and I look forward to many more years of exceptional dancing!

I was shocked when I saw one star review below. Absolutely not true!
Sunnyside ballet studio definitely deserves five stars!
My daughter has been going there since she was 3. This year is going to be her 8th year. At the studio, she has made many friends, and many of the other girls have also continued there for several years.
Teachers are super nice, warm, and friendly, yet they maintain professional standards and high level of instruction.
Highly recommended!
My daughter has been at Sunnyside Ballet Studio since she was three (she is 11 now). Our experience has been excellent. We moved neighborhoods at one point and tried another studio as it was closer to our new home but she demanded to return to Sunnyside Ballet Studio because she loves it so much. It is like a second home to many of the dancers as they learn and grow there together. The staff and owner, Yasko are supportive, knowledgeable and organized. The dancers have a wonderful time together as they learn. If there is ever any issue Yasko is very approachable and readily helps to sort it out.
There are also great opportunities for field trips throughout the year to further the kids’ experience.
The kids perform at Queens Theater twice a year as well as various opportunities for street-dance performances.
I do not understand the “sardine can” reference as the space is bright, spacious and very clean. There are huge windowed walls with views of the Manhattan skyline.

I am shocked by the one star review below. My daughter has been going to the studio for 5 years and loves it. The teachers and the owner are wonderful, kind and caring and I think that's reflected in how many students have been there for so many years. I frequently wait for her while she is in class and have never had a bad interaction with the staff or other parents. I love that the older students frequently help out with the younger ones and the fact that they have their recitals in an actual theatre makes it all the more fulfilling for the students. They have the real theatre experience. And this is not easy to pull off - it requires a huge commitment by all the staff, students and volunteers. I'm just one parent but I can't say enough good things about this studio.
We have loved Sunnyside Ballet Studio since it started in that tiny basement room over on 40th St.! Yasko (the director) is one of the most incredible people you will ever meet. She is creative and cheerful and fun and somehow also super organized and incredible at running a classroom full of dancers. The recitals are nearly flawless and yet also so personal and unique. There are clear pathways to becoming a serious dancer (the advanced students continue to amaze me!) but there are also plenty of ways to have fun and simply experience the joy of dance. I don’t think you could ask for a better ballet school in this neighborhood.
