In these unusual times there have been many online tango courses, mostly connected to tango dance. A legitimate choice, but a very challenging one and not the only possible one. Tangart has designed a series of online courses that deal with aspects of tango that are crucial and yet often overlooked by the dancing community: the life trajectory of the musicians and composers on whose arrangements and songs we dance; the musical structure, instrumentation and devices of those songs; the media and technologies the orchestra leaders relied on; the language in which the lyrics of those songs are penned, and so on. In a word, the crucial but often taken for granted cultural dimension of tango, approached in a fresh and detailed and not only academic way. We also want to emphasize the teacher’s personal committment in preparing and delivering the courses, with engagement, honesty and patient availability in addressing the participants questions.
