This fortress which was built by the Portuguese in 1635 is located in colvale and since it is not maintained you just get to see the ruins of the fort.

This is basically called as Thivim fort

Very nice place, along the road, was mixed with a Shiva altar, parking for scooters, can go on top and inside

The remnants of the fort is a reminder to all the present generation of Goa that Shri Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj loved Goa very much and wanted to throw the Portuguese from our motherland.

In the year 1739 it was captured by the Marathas and later recaptured by the Marquis of Lourical. The fort had a small garrison, besides a regiment. In the year 1841, the regiment was shifted to Mapusa and the fortress lost its importance gradually as for a few years it had been abandoned and neglected.
The fortress is now in ruins but it still attracts a number of tourists. The journey towards the fortress is exciting and creates historical and archaeological interests. It is also known to be a popular picnic spot.

This place is completely in ruins and nothing to see. We are regular fort visitors and still we feel there's nothing left to see here.

Well there is nothing on the fort since it's completely deteriorated. But the canal next to it is gud place to relax specially in the evening. Sun set is very picturesque.

Very obscure... not something you'll will find very easily; only for the adventurous ones.
I challenged myself to visit every fort in Goa.
It was in a very bad condition with vines and creepers grown all over until the villagers of Tivim and Colvale requested the archaeological department to clean it up. There is yet some restoration needed and I hope the archaeological department will give priority to the repair work.
