I recently had an unfortunate experience with a county worker Jackie Ghuniam that I feel compelled to share. The customer service was abysmal; the representative was unhelpful, dismissive, and seemed uninterested in addressing my concerns. Instead of providing assistance, I was met with indifference and a lack of empathy. This experience not only wasted my time but also left me feeling frustrated and undervalued as a citizen. I hope this feedback prompts improvements in training and customer service standards within the department.

This location is the worst ever! If I can give no stars I would. I live in the area and no one has been answering the phone at all for months I even called supervisors, managers the VP, The Ombudsman you name it no one EVER answer’s.

I went in today to drop off some paperwork (first time) the process was fast and efficient. The woman at the front desk greeted me and was very helpful. I guess I went at the right time on the right day because I’m not sure what everyone else is talking about other than yes, they do take forever to process paperwork, they never pick up the phone or answer emails. That’s what the 3 stars are for, there’s help but you have to do the leg work for yourself to get anything done because you’re the one in need. But the customer service that I experienced today was very helpful and professional.

Silver spring housing location have sone of the most rudest unprofessional ppl that walks the face of this earth! I don’t kno how they still have jobs or were hired from the start. The receptionist who sits at the front desk in disgusting she’s very rude and ignorant!

I can understand why the housing authority office would be busy with lots of paperwork and case files because there are many in need especially in this area since rent is extremely high. With that said, if you are going to issue vouchers and assistance to those in need then accept the responsibility and assist them. This is the absolute worst office when it comes to customer service. I am under the impression the workers could care less about their job but I am sure they want their paycheck. What if your paycheck was tied to the amount of cases you process and move off your desk to the finalized or complete section???? Why is it when people know you need them, pretty much at their mercy they treat you the worst and feel as though they can take their time when assisting you? How about this, if you move the paperwork and case files in a timely manner then the clients would have no reason to call you knowing you will not answer the call or call them back and they would have no reason to come to your office to sit for hours while you and your co workers do absolutely nothing but sit around talking and laughing amongst each other. If you don't want to do your job then find another one where you wont have to deal with the public. I am sure there are many people who would love to have your job and perform well. I understand there are many people who take advantage of the system because the ladies in this office feel as though the clients are bothering them. If it wasn't for the clients your office wouldn't exist. The majority of the clients really need this service and should be assisted timely. There are many who don't need it and can work but they don't seem to have issues with the housing office. I guess they want people to get the voucher, move in to an apartment and stay there so they don't have to process move requests that way they can come to work and chill. The reviews for this office is sickening and someone needs to look into it immediately. I worry about the elderly who have to deal with this office because I am sure they are not treated fairly. Let me ask the employees a question? If you, your mother, father or grandmother, aunt cousin, daughter or son was in need and came to this office would you expect for them to be treated the way you treat the clients? How would you feel if they took weeks and months to process paperwork for you that I am sure you could process in a day or less then get back to chatting with your friends. Why does it take months to have someone come to inspect a property to move in? This office gives the housing authority a bad name. This is unacceptable. You should all be ashamed of how long it takes constantly telling people you will handle it know that is a flat out lie berceuse you don't handle anything.

I am trying to participate in HUD programs to improve my status in life but HOC does not communicate, return phone calls, or have an egregious attitude. It seems that Montgomery County, Maryland politicians have the most people of color in the programs and want them to stay in poverty. They do not want to hear our voices at all. HOC advertise that they want to hear feedback but do not really want it because most of us have not received any link to vote, or any link to participate in a virtual town hall meeting, etc. HOC has on their website that they would send participants information and the participant put in their email however HOC do not send anything. What is going on with HOC IT department? HOC is severely mismanaged. As you look the participants who are running for the RAB are highly educated with experience [ majority people of color] but do not make the money to get off the program, this is sad and embarrassing. If there are educated HOC staff and politicians who can't run the County efficiently it is a failure to everyone. That is why it is a homeless problem and individuals living over the maximum allowed in multi-family housing, overcrowdedness is a crime. The problem is the lack of opportunities and jobs in the State of Maryland and the hiring pool is discriminatory, affirmative action may be gone in the State of Maryland. The problem is political failure and systematic racism in the State of Maryland and Montgomery County MD with programs. They do not want to improvement they want people of color to stay sick in the system like slaves.

The most incompetent group of people to deal with. Relocated here from NJ based off a lie. Inspection company falsified my inspection so my daughter and I moved into a unit with Rodent infestation, plumbing and electrical issues, 3 different rental payment amounts. They're just dumb. I honestly don't know what the screening process Is for hiring, but I've never encountered this many idiots at once. I wish I knew who to report them to.
*****EDIT**** Highest turnover rate you will see. The lack of professionalism is beyond me. Provided documentation of a layoff, only to be told I have a new worker. Forwarded her the documentation and low and behold I received a notice on my door that they will be filing a summary of ejectment. Provided with, yet again, a new worker who told me the letter was just a threat. I incurred late fees because they told me what my portion was on 1/22, knowing rent is due by 1/10 to avoid late fees. When I inquire about who is paying the late fees I'm told HOC pays late fees only of they are late. YOU ARE LATE and you caused me to be late. There is an educational disconnect with these people. No one has greetings on their voicemails, and those that do, their mailboxes are full because they aren't returning calls anyway.
