Great tour, such a neat visitor center, and a very cool historical park. Highly recommend the walking/biking tour!
10/10 would recommend taking one of Ranger-led tours, really gives some great texture to all that you will see and learn at the space. Just make sure to check the website ahead as some schedules change with seasons.
Great place to visit. Very knowledgeable staff and volunteers. A wealth of information with wonderful context. Access to the community is right across the street where you can get a walking tour to see houses on the interior and also you get to see the large Hotel Florence. Hopefully the hotel finds additional funding to be restored.
The District is truly beautiful and so photogenic. The museum though, while in the huge building with the clock is only a tiny space with no other areas accessible which was disappointing. No Pullman car which I would have hoped for.
The displays btw have some nice educational points about discrimination as well as union and worker rights.
The real beauty is the surrounding areas directly north and south of the museum.

I last saw Pullman in 1986, when it first opened as a park. It has improved a lot since then. It's an important place in American labor, railroad, and architectural history - and it's beautiful.
Undoubtedly an iconic landmark in the vibrant city of Chicago! I'd rate it four stars, with the only downside being that 'The Bean' is temporarily closed for construction. Nevertheless, Millennium Park remains a splendid destination for a day outdoors. The meticulously manicured gardens offer a serene escape from the bustling city streets. I relish strolling through, allowing my footsteps to lead me while reveling in the intricate forms and vibrant colors of the flowers and plants.
Should 'The Bean' still be under construction when you visit, I highly recommend a visit to the nearby Chicago Cultural Center, just across the street. It's a free gem you won't want to miss, and the cultural treasures within are truly captivating.

A national treasure in the south side of Chicago. Wonderful museum and a neighborhood walk frozen in time.

When We Went It Was Close!!! It's A Place To Go For Good Education For Black People In General!!!

I have mixed feelings about this place. On the one hand, it's nice that they're trying to preserve history through the neighborhood homes and building a sense of community. On the other hand, I question what they're trying to preserve. Progress is slow and beyond the scope and capabilities of a local organization. What are you planning to do with the abandoned Market Square, for example? And how will you do it and when? In addition, they're telling things largely from the perspective of older, largely white and wealthier pseudo-progressive, neighborhood crony elites. Many things are glossed over or ignored, either unintentionally or by design, through its limited perspective. If you're going to claim to talk about history, try to tell the whole story or as much of it as you can, good and bad!

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Ranger Linda was an immense help and extremely kind. She gave us a good introduction to the site and helped us understand the additional buildings in the surrounding area. She also helped with a local ice cream recommendation. Thanks!
There is only one mention of the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters in the entire museum. See pic... Passing mention below the singular picture of a black railroad worker. The only woman executive mentioned is described as "a bitter dispirited woman." Just... Really?

World class
A world class team. We have visited 5 • out of 65% of the world's population and this hotel has a great location with a great team. Mandana Queen of Exec. The Lounge makes it her very own Palace and the apex of our Executive Authority. Attendant list. The guide is very smart and knows every trick in the book!

The restoration of this important historical site is moving forward. It's good to see that it's being preserved. Pullman Railroad Days was one of their special events.
If the national site focuses mainly on the company and its labor (and race) relations, this foundation site focuses mainly on the community. So the two centers compliment each other well. We arrived shortly before closing, so we didn't get the full chance to explore. But we will be back. We especially appreciate the walking tour map, and we look forward to better weather so we can visit and see more.
Great new National Monument. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Although we had a short covid wait to get in, the place is nice. Hopefully someday someone will donate a Pullman car to the park. I see a lot of potential with this park. It is good to walk around and get a good understanding of the efficient manufacturing and how some employees lived in the company houses.
So much to see! We went with our 6 year old son and he loved it. Many different areas to explore. We went on a Friday afternoon and parking was easy to find ($30) and the aquarium wasn't too crowded.

Pretty neat community. A place where people come together and help one another whether it be shoveling their walk way or chasing down a robber; we got one another's back. Sometimes we chit chat with our neighbors on our way through the neighborhood. Sometimes we hang out and attend one of the fun gatherings Pullman does with one another: game night, movie dinner, wine club to name a few. It is all about building a nice friendship with one another and being helpful and kind.
Plan for half a day. You'll want to tour the historic neighborhood, and not just the visitor center. Had a great tour, including the plan for the neighborhood, the Pullman Strike, the Hotel Florence restoration, etc.
I took public transportation out and walked, which one of the guys' working here suggested that wasn't a good idea. It is the South Side of Chicago, but i did just fine.

We went on 4th july weekend and it was hugely crowded. I didn't find the cloud gate structure that amazing. but the park is nice especially the shower tower is fun and is liked by kids in scorching heat.
When I went there, they had a Jazz show going on, they sure have good music! It's a beautiful place, there is a big metal bean, and a fountain wuith pictures, it's a nice place to take pictures.
Millennium park is a green spot in the heart of the city. The place to go is the Cloud gate sculpture that is a marvel by design. Made of stainless steel it is hard to believe that so many stainless steel plates could be welded. My father who claims to have already seen what needs to be seen in this world, was impressed by the Cloud gate bean. That is high praise. I would recommend anyone visiting the city to take pictures by millennium park.
my favorite place to people watch in downtown, It is a beautiful view of the city and people of all walks of life congregate at the bean. It is a great way to spend the a beautiful afternoon in the City..
Really like the landscape. The bean is kinda cool. There is this flower that smells weird everywhere, so that's the only downside to that. It's an awesome place to just go hangout with friends.
