The only reason I didn't give a 5 is lackluster ambiance. My guess is this place was pretty amazing in the 80s but hasn't been updated since.
That being said, the food was spot on. I ordered the 10oz filet that I ordered medium rare. It's may have been a slight bit more well that I'd prefer the flavor was great. It was seasoned with the perfect amount of salt and pepper...just the way it should be. It was served with the perfect amount of char and crust.
They also have a decent wine list. They have a great assortment of the normals and then several higher end bottles.
The service was top-notch. Everyone was very nice and very accommodating.
If you're looking to impress business clients who prefer a more affluent feel. I'd skip it. But if you want a great steak, I highly recommend it.

We chose The Famous Steak House to do an intimate gender reveal for our first child and I was absolutely blown away with Brian C. and the care he took in making this evening perfect.
The food was top-notch, the atmosphere was amazing, and the entire staff was incredible.

Best time to come here is during happy hour. Best prices on drinks and oyster specials. Overall the food here is awesome.
We were not a fan of the older lady behind the bar. Very inattentive and a little grumpy.

The steak was awesome 1200 degree sear and cooked to perfection. The salad and sides were great too. The portions are sized for 2. So order 1 meal for a couple and they serve it for the 2 of you.
Dinner was a pleasure and the staff was so nice. We sat at the bar and I had the filet and a baked potato. The rosemary sourdough bread was to die for.
This is a high-end restaurant and the service, food and prices reflect that. Beautiful interior and comfortable seating. The decor sets the tone for a celebratory type of meal. Everything we had was absolutely fantastic. Definitely the best steak I've had. The sides are family sized and would recommend ordering in accordance with portion size in mind. The cheesecake was superior to any other cheesecake. The restrooms were clean and easy to locate. We were seated promptly and our server expertly guided us through the menu. Eating at the Famous was a fun amd memorable experience.
This is a special occasion restaurant due to price point. Between $45-65/ steak.
The evening we ate at the restaurant it was not crowded. There was a special brussel sprout side dish that was excellent. Our New York strip had a lot of tendons. Which is why I gave a 4/5. (It’s a steak restaurant) The portions are large. I definitely recommend the restaurant. Just be prepared to walk out with a bill. Our bill was $200- 1 steak(topped w crab-this increased the price),baked potato, 1 salad, 1 side dish,1 crab cake appetizer and 2 alcoholic drinks.

I'm fairly new to Colorado so my coworker, who's lived here for about 20 years, highly recommended this steakhouse. I couldn't get into the Melting Pot so my wife and I just started walking to find something and I recognized the name and decided to finally try it. I was very impressed with the service and the food was some of the best I've experienced since being here...so much flavor, tender and juiciness. My wife will definitely make sure we're back very soon.
