The perfect place to visit! They have a wide variety of products, and everyone is very friendly. The owner is a very nice person who makes you feel welcome. My husband and I will definitely visit here again.

I was searching for a gift box of Indian sweets, and I found it here! The owner was very welcoming, helped me with the selection and packed the sweets in a beautiful box. He also gave me a small gift with the purchase :)
It was a delightful experience and I really appreciate all the help!

This place is fantastic. I’ve been a customer for years, and have tried everything from their delicious house-made vegan mango lassi, fresh fruits, and incense/herbs/spices. The selection is top notch, high quality, and you won’t find fairer prices in this area. Extremely nice staff as well. Grateful for this local mainstay!

ALERT ⚠️ they sell expired stuff. I have been visiting this store for over 2 years now. I am writing this review now because enough is enough. They sell expired food items and remove/hide expiration dates. This has happened with me couple of times. I bought roasted nuts ..so expensive.. and I had to throw all of them away. This was same case with many other food products. It is so expensive as well almost 4x the market price and it pains to throw food away.

Be careful if you buying from this store

80% of the stuff is expired or stale. I’m a frequent customer. Every time I visit I come home with foul smelling items. They are extremely overpriced, thrice the amount from other stores. Also look out for expiry dates, because they erase it on a lot of stuff. Even the stuff they pack themselves looks good from the outside but when you open it, there’s a high chance it’s stale.

Great location for spices, loose tea, and general groceries in Lower Manhattan. They offer a discount if you use cash and have a great reward program (5% off on your first purchase if you make an account with them!) Will definitely be returning for bulk spices!

The guy behind the counter was pretty rude, was trying to see if he'd exchange something and he kind of just stopped responding, he could have handled it better. Used to be my go to but I think I'm going to skip this place now. Least he could do was talk nicely to an old customer even if he wasn't going to exchange

Felt like coming home!!!! All the uncles were so nice to us and helped us find everything we need. Also excellent samosas and one of the best spice collections I've seen.

Owner was so nice and helpful who gave us a discount and free sweets and samosas for the kids and even us parents. Great selection of spices, dry foods, frozen foods, fresh produce.
Where else can you find and quick, tasty and nutritious lunch for $12 on the upper East Side? This place is great. The service is fast and friendly and the food was delicious. I got two samosas - which reminded me of how my neighbor used to make them - and a chicken curry with rice. The small was sufficient for me and I'm a big guy. It was slightly spicy with plenty of warming flavors and was perfect on a rainy day.

It is a great store, mostly having everything you need in an Indian kitchen. The vegetables were fresh and clean, other grocery products like spices and condiments were also placed in a systematic order so you can find them easily in the display racks.
Best store in upper east. Cleanest store I have ever seen
awesome

I accidentally tipped it over so ignore the cross-spillage! The vegan combo was $12!A good value for a meal (or two)! Each of the mains had great flavor and texture. The shop prices are good too, ex: $4 for an MDH spice pack, comparable to larger chains. Good deals all around, and good customer service! I will definitely be back.

It is a fairly big store that offers a wide variety and selection of Indian grocery items and fresh vegetables. Also has a fine selection of frozen ready to eat food like samosas, roti, nans ,paraths.
A long time patron of PJ of 87th (received a free samosa on their opening day kinda bandhan), I was overdue for my first bad customer service experience. And PJ did not disappoint. The chicken is a different matter. The gentleman running my credit card during (for my totally not necessary purchase of Haldiram's Bhujia and Britannia Good Day ) said card was declined. I was like..hain? aise kaise? and told him to run it again..he said it was declined and said something on the lines of - " if you have no money, why pretend to buy"..i swallowed my disbelief at his utterance and asked the POS for viewing..He was like take my word for it...you have no money on your card..yet I persisted. And made him show me the card reader it said - chip error...and not card declined. If the kind POS operator could be educated on error messages it would be nice, rather than mouthing off apni marzi sey. I gave the gentleman a different card and it went through fine. Both were visa cards btw. At least I had Wagh Bakri at home to go with the Good Day, so I scooted away making a mental note to not return here (though I live one street away) Punjabi Juction Of 87th is now in my Beete Lamhein. Gotta head to kips bay now. Sigh.
This is the best indian Store you will find in whole NYC. They also sell the best samosas in NYC. Not only do they sell the best INDIAN food in NYC they also sell the best sandwiches my personal favourite being chicken sandwich i fully recommended you try this and if you’re a vegan you can try the vegan combo with lentils, mixed vegetables, and rice and they sell groceries if you’re looking for a grocery store. Overall this is a really good restaurant you should really visit at least once.

So I’m going to tell you the story of shopping here at food bazaar and how TERRIBLE it is. I just was looking in the store and couldn’t really find what I needed to buy , I was probably in the store for 10 minutes. I decided to leave. Also I have been shopping at all food bazaar locations for years. Anyway I left this one and before I left the security followed me down stairs and accused me of shoplifting. They claimed I had their products (which was two drinks coke cola and iced tea)and I explained NO THIS IS MY THINGS THAT I PAID FOR WITH MY MONEY FROM A DELI IN QUEENS. NOT YOURS 🙄😤These idiots keeps interrogating me and I said show me on the camera when I stole, no then they walk away like morons and say sorry. You can’t just accuse people of stealing when I bought my stuff that didn’t even come from you. This is a disgusting shopping experience because what is the next step to use violence on me or call the police ? Like what would you tackle me because you think I have your merchandise ? I am against shoplifting and I’m happy you want to stop it but do a better system than this because I just feel in the situation that it will escalate to violence from security or the police on innocent people.

And to the other customers. Don’t shop here and be ready to call the police if they interrogate you because you have that choice. or shop with someone to help you and defend yourself.

You can get anything you want related to Indian grocery at this one place. The store is clean and neat. It might be a bit overpriced but since it’s Manhattan everything is supposed to be overpriced. Good for a monthly run for New Yorker Indians ;)
I stumbled in here looking for a quick dinner. I ordered the vegan combo with lentils, mixed vegetables, and rice - everything had great flavor. There was a combo of potatoes, eggplant, and peppers which I loved. The portion was massive, next time I’ll get a side of rice because I ran out with plenty of main left.

This lady pick and choose when she want to do a legal stuff for guest. I always come here since they opened !! Once I left my wic card and she allowed me to do so. Now today I come in at 10pm trying to get milk for my son ! I notice I left my wic card at home ,but had a picture. The cashier asked her was it okay she said no. I said Ms you did it before. She went and got some rude manager from the back .I explained to him that she did it for me before! He continued to talk over me and be rude!! I will be reporting you guys to the wic program I also will be calling HR that lady and man needs to be terminated for picking and choosing the days to do illegal things ! I also have the time and date so they can check cameras on when she let me use my wic card though a picture on my phone !!!!

Here's the place to get everything to eat healthy and a good price. Clean, safe and you can get exotics products, fruits from different countries of the world. Too, it's an excellent efficient staff always to your order. Thanks 🙏,
Fantastic selection and variety of Indian spices and food goods. The prices are really good, and much better than the bigger store next door. The owners and staff are really really friendly and helpful. I was actually in the store next door debating on spices to buy, but was aggressively rudely kicked out at 7:59 p.m as they were closing at 8. So I stumbled into this shop right next door, what happened to be open until 9:00 - and boy am I glad I did! I scored authentic spices at half the price as the place next door, and walked away with fresh delicious Indian candies. The candies are what triggered me to look inside an Indian food store in the first place. What's inside I realized all the things I've been missing out on my entire life. Owner gave me a mango for free. I will definitely go out of my way to return to the store every time I visit the city again.

Its a new food bazaar that has opened in the area. They had a variety of things to select from. Its clean and although the lines were long it didn't take long to pay. The parking sucks though. The bus area is in front so you can't park in front for long. The prices were good considering where it is. They have an elevator which is great for those who are handicap or just don't want to go up the escalator.
Love this place for so many reasons. The staff has always been very friendly. I love the classics - daal, chole, samosa etc. The food is delicious and fresh. I love picking up a Limca which reminds me of visits to home in Delhi. Keep up the great work. You are a gem on the UES.
Grand opening and the supermarket is clean, bright and open! You enter to all the fresh fruits and vegetables you can ever want, laid out openly and thoughtfully. Then, as you walk around, they have everything you are looking for and more! The seafood and meat department is fresh and abundant, I got some oxtail and a rack of lamb. It was fresh and delicious! I will be going there from now on. It's worth the little extra travel. The area is safe and quite busy as well.

Decent place…has some great and underrated subcontinent items like Shezan Mango Juice. They had a week old expired bread out on the shelves to sell, they need more attention to detail. In general, one thing all Indian grocery stores in Manhattan needs is frozen onion parathas.

A nice addition to the East Side of Harlem. I remember mostly rug and furniture stores and not much else more than a decade ago.

I was pleasantly surprised to see just how much variety is upstairs and at decent prices. Their produce section rivals any other with so many items to choose from, from vegetables to fruits.

Their seafood is great as well as they can clean and cut up the fish for you.

The Night Shift Manager, Islam, displayed poor customer service and professionalism.

Despite explaining my elderly mother's inability to come outside in the stormy and slippery weather, he was unfriendly, showed no empathy and didn't offer any solutions to help us use our food voucher.

He didn't seem to care about his customers due as he lack of eye contact, communication skills, and dismissive behavior towards me.

The manager fell short of standards, customer service, and professionalism that one should expect. My experience was horrible and it was disappointing, because that’s not how a manager should behave!
If anything,, they're overstocked.

Completely stocked supermarket in Harlem. Spaceous and well stocked aisles and courteous staff. I often need items that are sold out on the shelves and they will pull it from the overhead storage for me at my request. (The cashiers and management call me "SodaMan" because I buy 25-40 cases a week for my other business)

Almost anything in your shopping list you can find here. It's the ONLY location in Harlem that carries the Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia Frozen Yogurt I crave. Other stores carry the ice cream but I NEED the FroYo. 😂

If you read my review, give it a thumbs up 👍🏽so I can know my feedback is appreciated.

This is a big grocery store with lots of variety for Indian groceries.

Pros: Clean, large selection

Cons: Very expensive, BUT, more importantly, a little dishonest in how they do business. I have been there a few times out of necessity (rather than make the trek to Queens) and each time, they have overcharged me. Once can be a mistake, but each time? See attached invoice...I caught one transaction and asked them to adjust the price to the tag shown on the grocery item and they did, but the other item slipped by at an extra 50c.
The questions is not about the extra 50c or a dollar, but if they do that 100 times a day, that's an extra 100$ a day which makes them pocket an extra $3000 a month easy.
No one likes to go into a store and be constantly checking each transaction for shady business, and be on guard each second.
Clean up your act and be satisfied with doing fair business, then even if you are expensive, you'd get more stars from me

This place should be a national treasure. Clean and well stocked, seems they package their own produce such as curry leaves and cilantro so as to maximize freshness. Really unfortunate that this is the closest place from Brooklyn that has curry leaves but my trips here are always worthwhile with its variety of items and fresh samosas to boot. Noticed some negative reviews on Yelp from a year ago; fortunately service seems to have improved… prices are a tiny bit higher than it’s smaller competitors but greater selection makes it easier to get my shopping done in one place
This is the BEST Indian food in New York City. The taste is exquisite, every bite is juicy, I highly recommend it!
Disappointed not many fresh vegetables. Nothing like the photos.

Don't let the small entrance fool you, the shop is large inside and has tons of items of various kinds for people who want to make Indian food or enjoy fresh Indian sweets. Prices are quite decent and better than some other stores nearby.

They have tons of spices (over 50 kinds), Indian snacks, masala mixes, frozen food items including desserts like kulfi, Indian lentils and grains, paneer, yogurt, maggi, Indian herbs (mostly dried).

They also have tons of Indian utensils, pressure cookers, mortar and pestle etc.

Little India Market is an South Asian grocery that some produce, packaged foods and ingredients from India, and a some household items. the store is well-maintained, clean, and organized. while there’s a lot of products in here, it’s not overwhelming. there’s produce, refrigerated units of drinks and frozen foods, aisles of cooking ingredients, and a variety of snacks and candy that you wouldn’t normally find in your typical store.

haven’t bought any grocery items here yet, but i have stopped here for snacks. the ones i have had did not disappoint. like the Cadbury chocolates are the OG ones—the ones made in the UK and they taste waaaaaay better. also tried the Masala Lays chips which were great…not that salty full of a south blend of spices. those chips hit different. and there’s load of different candies and snacks from abroad here. all good stuff that I look forward to trying.

It's quite good with lots of Indian groceries...prices are very high. Staff is not cooperative at all.
We called before going there, and they said it's open till 9 pm..
According to Uber from Manhattan and reached 8.30 pm..
Staff suddenly said at 8.45 to leave the store. It's time to close.. I replied that 9 pm. is closing time, and it's 8.45, but he doesn't want to listen ...
Behavior was so rude...
I suggest going to jersey City it has lots of grocery stores on competitive prices.. and much more variety of Indian Asian grocery .
Even they don't have full grocery

I love this place. The staff is really great They have fresh foods and breads at a really fair price. It is obvious they take pride in picking the quality of the products in their store. Great addition to the neighborhood
This Indian bodega is a true local gem of the UES! Award-winning chef Sohal crafts authentic Indian meals in their kitchen with fresh, organic ingredients creating her many signature dishes such as wonderful Parantha and spicy biryani. If you’re in a hurry for a curry, you will find a convenient selection of both fresh and pantry items on hand along with unique sweets treats and desserts to round off your meal.

Extremely clean store with great pricing and ACTUAL fresh turmeric unlike Whole Foods. Can order delivery via Mercato and the staff is kind, attentive, and fast with checkout. They have high quality groceries and fast delivery so I no longer have to go through the pain of placing an order on Amazon to find out that they ran out of half of the items on my list or made a poor replacement. My Momma got me hooked so I keep coming back!

I love this market!! Great local community resource. I live about a block away, so the convenience of shopping here goes without saying. The owner and employees are super super nice and the store is stocked with inventory. I can find everything I’m looking for. There’s a wide variety of everything you need (i.e., produce, dairy, toilet paper, rice, noodles, sauces, baking goods, canned goods, beverages, nuts, ice cream, potatoes, fruit, eggs, cheese, candy, cookies, cleaning supplies, sweets, etc). I could go on forever; they have it all!!! And if they don’t have exactly what you’re looking for the owner will order it for you, so perhaps the next time you visit the product will be available. I came in one day looking for Lactaid milk and they didn’t have it. The owner was so nice to tell me that he would order some for me. I went back a day or so later to buy something else and two varieties of the Lactaid milk were now available. The owner keeps his promises!! This market is like a neighborhood supermarket, but without the lines. You get in and get out. Their prices are also very good as well. And they take Apple Pay. This is now my go to market for grocery runs. Love it!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

One of my favorite stores in NYC.

They sell Lion’s mane, chaga, rare mushrooms, rare spices. They have Indian candy, Indian brands, Asian brands. They do have fresh produce which are exotic herbs, rare vegetables and fruits.

After doing some research I do know their rare spices and medicinal items are sourced mostly in China which aren’t guaranteed organic nor free of heavy metals. With that, research what you buy and consume. I still love this store even after researching their products. Still my mushroom jackpot.

I come here for most of my spices and incense. I love they’ve been low key and casually maintaining their business for years without selling out and keeping the respect of chefs and staying true to their cultural backgrounds by keeping the store filled with new exotic spices from Asia instead of exotic spices from Los Angeles.
Love that it has everything you could ever want . Fresh & quality meat!
