Top Supermarkets in Darmstadt, Germany

The only store open on Sunday, which is good. But very understaffed and extremely crowded on Sunday, because nothing else is open. Had to wait in line for 20 minutes just to pay. The cashier charged me twice on one item that I bought only one of. The cashier had to call a supervisor, all while 30 people waited behind in line. Got the change back on coins. Missed my train because of this.

The store is not one of the big ones, but it has everything you need in case you need to shop everyday and also on a Sunday.

Most of the time, this place is packed. Get in early to avoid the wait. Sundays bring some type of entertainment with you it could be a while before getting in.

Good variety of groceries, snacks and home essentials. Staff are friendly and helpful too. Location within the HBF makes it perfect to nip into when you arrive in the city by train or the airport shuttle bus. Good opening hours, including actually being open on a Sunday, something which many tourists may not realise is actually a bit of a rarity.

Convenient because of its location, right in the train station. However quite dirty and the staff seems easily overwhelmed with things going on. Had to wait 40 min on a Sunday morning at the cashier because of some problems with their system.

Rewe, nothing special about it, here you find all usual products. The superb thing about this place.....is the only supermarket in Darmstadt that opens on Sundays!! Without take into account the gas stations.

It is small but mostly you can find what you need to prepare a Meal. It is also open on Sundays. Which is helpful for someone really busy. Avoid lunchtime because mostly Office workers , students, train passengers go there to buy necessities. There could be long line due to Covid rules. But it's not that bad. Still no 3G or 2G rule as of Dec. 06, 2021. So if they impose something, there would be slight problem to control cos there are not much workers to do that.
