i will never order anything from walmart for delivery again. waited all day for a package that said 9 pm and still isnt here. what a crappy delivery system sent text and chat and no answer. HORRIBLE
Interrogated after using self checkout for two items that didn’t scan a HBD banner and napkins/plates. This place is a joke, if you can’t trust Americans to scan their own items and take responsibility that it could maybe just maybe be your machine that didn’t scan instead of automatically assuming you’re a thief. Especially over items so silly, I even offered to go back and purchase them. 48 hours ban turns into forever for me.

Lots to choose from. That's the only good thing.
Place is disgusting. Reeks of cigarette smoke just outside the entrance, every day. Oh...and this is what you get with an $8 tray of fried chicken. Left side of photo is ALL breading/skin (mostly breading). Right side is the actual meat. Total scam. They take itty bitty chickens and just load em up with breading to make it look like you're getting more. This works for one of the many unhealthy folks traipsing around the store, but it doesn't work for someone who actually cares about what they eat and living past the age of 50.
"I’m extremely disappointed with Walmart’s handling of my online order payment. I placed an order through the Walmart app, only for it to be canceled shortly after. Despite this, they held my funds for TEN DAYS! That's unacceptable and puts a serious strain on anyone trying to manage their finances. Reaching out to customer service didn’t help—they couldn’t give me a clear reason or expedite the refund. Holding customers’ money for that long after an order is canceled feels like poor business practice. Walmart, you need to do better for your customers!"

Store didn’t have any bags to put food in. I had to leave several items at register!

This horrible!! If you want folks to bring their own bags then make it a NEW store policy!!
After traveling from Silver Spring to make a return of meat that someone so graciously stuck their finger in. I was sent back home without customer service making an effort to accommodate my return. The product I had was no where in the store and they refused to exchange with similar meat and with the offer of paying any difference. Utterly disgusting.

This is a busy store. Employees keep it stocked pretty good. The one thing I noticed is that some employees are wearing earbuds and talking while working.

Palettes in the aisles, workers trying to restock the items I’m buying as I’m shopping, and a small size make this target feel more like a small, poorly provisioned warehouse than a store.

Whomever the shopper was that shopped my very small order at Wash Walmart today clearly did not have one brain cell in their head, or they were mad at the world for having to work! Either way, they need to be put in some other position. Maybe in the warehouse. In one bag, I had a heavy canned good, a can of heavy duty air freshener, 2 large onions, a loaf of bread, a bag of dried kluski noodles, rice and quinoa cups and pouch of instant potatos along with a couple small items from the pharmacy area. The heavy onions were on top of the bag of noodles. The bread was smashed in between it all. What is air freshener doing in with food? WTH?!? The noodles were broken up, obviously, and the bread was smashed.I have never, ever in four years seen a bag packed like it. I've had dozens and dozens, if not hundreds of orders in that length of time. This person clearly did not want to be there and should have been sent home!!! If it was the young man that brought the order out, shame on him! I questioned him and of course he said it wasn't him that shopped it, but it certainly wouldn't have surprised me if it had been! I also had a 3 pound boneless frozen tukey breast that wasn't put in a bag at all and one half pound of butter in a bag by itself. Again WTH???? Come on, Walmart, you can do better than this!!!!

Very small store. Do no plan to go here unless it is for some small or quick items. Came in from out of town and expected a regular target so was very surprised by the limited options. Also prepare to pay for parking if you stay over an hour. Seems great for a quick stop but not for a regular target shopping experience. I wish the website had posted that. We drove out of our way to come to this one.

When you're STRETCHING that DOLLAR until it HOLLERS, this is your place!, For some reason, the WDC Dollar Tree's ALWAYS have boxes of stock in the aisles ( it's a given). Some items have been repackaged by the manufacturer, so if you don't see what you're used too, just look again. 👍

They’ve locked up everything from dental hygiene products to underwear. They had put some sensors but now they have taken them off as of the weekend of May 17, 2024. Because it is Target policy to have basically a skeleton crew, there is almost nobody tending to the register.

This is the type of store where you arrive with a list of four items, but they only have one of them and it is locked behind a cabinet with no one to unlock for you. Literally every time.

Terrible mess in the women's clothes section, very little stock and even worse with the selection of sizes. I may like the snacks, but I wasn't impressed either. One of the worst targets I've ever seen in my life. Compared to other states, e.g. California, where it is an almost luxury store, there is a problem at every step. WHY DO YOU NOT SUPPORT INTERNATIONAL CARDS? The cashier asked if I had any money 🤣🤣🤣 it was quite awkward and inappropriate, since Europein VISA is not supported by your checkout.

I like to visit this target since it’s so close to my home, but it frequently doesn’t have what I need which can be a bummer. But it’s usually clean and quiet and pleasant. I’ve stopped going recently though because there is a man who works there (I assume in the electronics?) who makes me uncomfortable. He never is dressed like a Target employee, and he awkwardly asks about my cell phone provider in random areas of the store - today I was in the TOY section. When told we’re not interested he becomes combative and tries to convince me to continue the interaction so I ended up having to walk away to get away from him. His demeanor and client service skills are severely lacking, and It’s off putting that he’s not dressed like an employee, and it’s made visiting this target uncomfortable.

I’m extremely disappointed with my recent visit to this store. We made the effort to travel all the way there, only to find it closed at 5:45 pm, despite Yelp listing the closing time as 6 pm. This lack of accuracy in operating hours caused us unnecessary inconvenience and completely ruined our plans. Such unreliable information and poor management are unacceptable. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a reliable shopping experience.

Great store! Carries Usborne touchy feely books, hard to find!
I walk up on this item it was clearly $19.87 and I asked two different associates to check one could barely understand me the second person pulled out his phone and saw that it was incorrect so he corrected it with the suggestion I take a photo so that the manager could honor the price . After waiting for over 15 mins of her arrival only for her to say to me she will lose her job if she give it to me for the price that was posted before the change it wasn’t my fault the department manager didn’t make changes befor I got there which no one truly knew the actual price just no I wil no longer purchase anything from this location I would’ve gotten my item in Virginia Or Maryland it’s always something in dc and the manger was so unprofessional Ms makyo stay away from this Walmart Georgia Ave is better

Sharing my personal experience.once entered the first things that stand out into a Walmart shopping center is the sheer size of the place. The aisles are wide and well-organized, making it easy for customers to navigate through the store. The store layout is intuitive and user-friendly, with clear signage and helpful staff members available to assist customers with any questions they may have. Usually I use to visit here for groceries, electronics, clothing, and this time I wondered seeing elegant designer jewels for both men and women . Collections are really cool design with reasonable price . My highly recommend place for family shopping .

First and last time I will ever use this store. I am 8++ hours into grocery order (including 2.5 hours calling service line) and groceries were NEVER delivered. Driver never came to the apartment (waited at door for 30 minutes). Driver must have had to leave. He took food back and cancelled the order of 90+ items (for my daughter's new apartment). Customer no-service said the order would be reentered at delivered by 10 pm same night (that was at 7pm) and store confirmed. By 11 pm no delivery again. Called help line and told the order at 7pm was never even placed. Wasted the entire day and still got nowhere. I have Walmart plus and have been customer for 10years. Last time I will use them in DC because this store could not care less about using up my day and still shafting me. I could've order elsewhere at 7pm but relied on the lies of the the customer service representative.

As far as Walmarts go this one is pretty solid! They are well stocked and well staffed. The only big downside is that checkout lanes get fairly busy and crowded. We've been using their online ordering and pickup service for a few weeks though and it's gone smoothly every time.

This Target has always been meh and keeps getting worse. If you can find an employee, they are friendly. But good luck finding one! If you do, they’re run ragged stocking a huge section that ought to be a team effort. Need to check out? You get to wait for one of two working self checkout kiosks. Want to buy deodorant? Too bad. A third of the merchandise is now locked up. Push a button for assistance, the signs say. I tried 3 times. I waited a few minutes. When I walked around the ONLY staff in that half of the store were the pharmacy team. The only other staff on the floor were restocking or installing a new security camera. There is such a thing as TOO much security when you don’t bother staffing up enough to help customers buy things! I think Target knows they can phone it in because this is a useful location but it’s been underwhelming for years.
No carts, messy design, a clearance section full of items that aren't on sale, target circle coupons not being accepted, AND you have to use the self-checkout (no choice, no separate lines).

The register forces you to get an employee of you purchase any sale items (what's the point of self checkout ?!?), which takes forever.

Management gets defensive when you call out poor service, so I won't be surprised if some generic "we care" comment gets posted in response to this review.

I love Target and love DC. Unfortunately, this is possibly the worst Target in all of the DMV.

Absolutely wonderful staff. We were visiting DC for the weekend and looking for wooden train tracks but they were out so they took my information and called me when they got more in so I could order them and they shipped it to us. Kind and absolutely went above and beyond. The play area downstairs is also wonderful.

Overall, I had a positive experience and found the staff to be extremely helpful.

One aspect that stood out to me was the willingness of the workers to stop what they were doing to assist customers. Whenever I had a question or needed help finding a specific item, the employees were always readily available and eager to assist. Their friendly and approachable attitude enhanced my shopping experience.

However, one area where I noticed a slight inconvenience was during the checkout process. Due to the flow of workers at the registers, there were times when paying for my items took longer than anticipated. This seemed to be an issue with the allocation of workers rather than the efficiency of the staff themselves. Despite this, I still enjoy shopping at Walmart for its wide range of products.

Overall, I appreciate the assistance provided by Walmart's workers, even though paying for my items can sometimes be time-consuming. I find the store to be a convenient place for my shopping needs, and I will continue to shop there in the future.

used to love this store but the shoplifting by others has negatively impacted the experience of paying customers. i often look online to check if an item is in stock and the last few times i’ve gone, my items are not there (presumably shoplifted). also, many other items are locked (including socks and underwear) up so i’m not sure how convenient it is to actually shop here when you have to find someone with a key. i know the workers are trying their best and i’ve never had a bad experience with them but i primarily use this store now to return shipped items because i cannot walk to pick them up when i need them.

My friend needed to obtain headphones for his Galaxy Phone. We quickly made our way to the entertainment area and he reviewed the options and when he was done. I went up to
The cashier and asked for
Assistance.

20 minutes later we are still waiting for assistance. I go over again and he motioned that someone was coming but not verbally or an apology for the wait.

15 additional minutes, a young lady came over to in essence unlock the case as you had zero knowledge of any brand of head phones or anything to be honest.

We thanked her and she assured us that he could return it if he opened it and didn’t have the proper connection for his Galaxy Mobile.

My friend waited in line. He was next in line as the gentleman that was there when we initially arrived was still in line.

The transaction or situation was taking an awfully long time and there were now three associates dealing with the ONE customer.

Meanwhile, there are customers that require items to be unlocked and we are waiting in line and then a lady approaches and the young lady that helped us with unlocking the cabinet and starting ringing up that lady when we were clearly next.

Apparently, it was credit only.

It was a nightmare, I WILL NEVER purchase any Electronics at Walmart.

Pack a lunch if you decide to check it

We visited this store a week before Christmas. There were no signs posted outside indicating the opening time but the door was open so we (my husband, young son and I) decided to have a look around. There was another mother and her child browsing the store as well. We were greeted by the shop person and told to ask if we need assistance. Then less than a minute later we were told by the same person that the store does not open until 10am (it was 9:45am) and if we weren’t going to buy anything we needed to leave and come back when they were open. We love supporting independent business, even if their prices are usually a little higher. And we actually were considering buying a $130 shopping cart. But after being told to buy something or get out, whilst the other mother and her child happily browsed the store at their leisure, we won’t be coming back.

This place needs some serious help. It needs new management. They simply do not care what goes on in this store. They are so lucky I am not a secret shopper. This store will fail miserably. Most of the employees here just do not care about their community. Do not care about their store. Do not care about the people that come to shopping this store.. As busy as this store is, this place needs some serious help. It needs new management. They simply do not care what goes on in this store. They are so lucky I am not a secret shopper. This store will fail miserably. Most of the employees here just do not care about their community. Do not care about their store. Do not care about the people that come to shopping this store.. As busy as this store is,their shelves should be constantly stocked and full. Whoever does the ordering for the store needs to be fired. From fresh bread to water, how can you be out of bread and water basics. Most of the shells are continuously and constantly empty you cannot find what you need. Then, most of the items are in the wrong locations. Some of you people who are in the higher-ups. Who runs this company? Your supervisors need to come check out these two stores in DC. They suck and they do not care about the community. And again they don't care about the people who shop here. This is another one of your Walmart stories that you guys can sit there. And BE laugh at and be happy about IT because there's another disaster.

Love this place! Huge selection for such a small store. I especially love the huge Lego selection. Great to buy local!
Greatly stocked. Was pleased that I was able to stock up and the neighborhood Walmart I'd always a friendly place to shop. Not as crowded as I would have thought before the holidays which was a great surprise. I recommend the meat selection. The giant bags of leg chicken was a great family deal. The kids clothing selection is great. Love the brands. And I'm happy that it's on the bus line for those who love in the area like me.

I just needed laundry detergent and deodorant. Should have taken less than 10 minutes from walking in to walking out. Instead I waited twice for lockers to be unlocked, gave up on deodorant altogether, and had to flag down someone for laundry detergent. Nearly every time I visit this Target I leave with only half of my list due to locker waits, out of stock items, or some other random problem. Why don't you stock dry cat food?? I know small format stores always have their issues but this one is something else.

Warning- They charge a 50 cents "bag fee" for every on-line order pick up, even when they do not use a bag. I picked up an order today and they just handed me the item. I'm all for not using plastic bags, but it's not fair to charge people a 50 cents "bag fee" when they do not even use a bag. I wonder how much $ this Target has been collecting from people for bogus "bag fees" over the past decade?

Not a bad Walmart. Has major things you would want including groceries and all the household items you need. I must acknowledge they have a very large selection of kitchen equipment and other items including small appliances. Parking not too bad, underground, so make sure you are careful when coming out. The exit is a little steep and your car might roll back if there’s a line to get out (there usually is). Not a super-center wally, but it will do

Oftentimes, the people make the experience. That was the case in my first trip to this Target location.

In reading other reviewers' displeasure with empty shelves, I can say I did notice that too, but they had all of the necessities that we needed. We had also placed an online order for several items, and the order was complete, ready, and organized.

When I needed assistance while shopping, the gentlemen working in the beer section ably answered my questions.

And Felicia at customer service? She was amazing. Her welcoming charm and effective service really made our stop a great one.

This is the most unorganized, run down Target in the US. Nothing is stocked correctly. They are always out of items and cannot stock the right items. All the medicine is locked up. Had trouble getting a gift card and no one could help me. The self checkout froze and the Target team members did not know what to do. Worthless help. Everything at the Columbia Heights Target is 15% higher than other Targets in the area. How dare you prey on people that live here. We make less and have to spend more. I only go here when I absolutely need something, otherwise stay away from the worst Target in the US.

Fun experience for the kids and they spent about 30 minutes playing on the toy set on the lower level.

Good and friendly customer service from the Lady at the till allowing the kids to explore as they wished.

It’s not a very large space but they manage to pack a lot in without it feeling cramped.

Picked a few items and the prices for these were competitive and always love to shop at an independent store which I’m told this is.

Overall great experience and only a 4 because of size and limited range. Will definitely go back with the children.

If I could give 0 I would… the product in the baby section is so unorganized to the point I picked up a box of pull ups that were scattered everywhere; I went to the register and the manager who is skinny, tall, with twist or old braids, and brown skin not sure of her name told me that even though the section looks a mess and she agreed it was all in the wrong section! She still did not take or reduce the price. This is exactly why I chose to shop further out of Dc because managers/ people do not understand customer satisfaction and that it is not our fault that the workers misplace items.

Not a full flagship location, there's limited groceries, clothing, household goods along with a pharmacy. There are occasions the prices are inaccurate versus what's advertised online and all the staff I've encountered for assistance, demeanor is as if they don't want to work there. Like asking questions is an inconvenience, definitely not customer service oriented.
Cute store with an interesting and wide assortment of gifts. Owner is a kind, helpful woman who will help you pick out exactly what you need.

Iam only giving 1 star but they need a 0. Everytime you go to the store they have 1 nasty cashier. The line is always down the isle. The manager watching the line getting long but he too busy putting products back instead of helping the customer's. I guess those things are more important than getting the money that keeps the store open and pays his salary. Customer's walking out because you have to wait so long to check out. And don't even look for decent customer service. It's no where to be found.I wish I didn't have to go to this store but they are sometimes stocked with items I need.
My only problem is they have items locked in cabinet. You have to push button to get a clear, takes them 3-5 minutes to arrive and open. Then you go get another item and it's locked up in cabinet, omg, same process of pushing button to get associate to come unlock cabinet. Got on my last nerves. People still going to shoplift. Need a better security plan. Wasting people's time with this foolery. Plus some associates don't want to take time to help customers. Why are they working there, just to stand around and chit chat with each other. Never going back to this Walmart.

Surprisingly satisfying Target despite its small size. I found all 11 out of 12 items I was looking for. I've gone to bigger Target locations that didn't have most of what I was looking for. The queue was long towards closing time, but staff were quick to increase the number of cashiers.
Great shopping experience. No unnecessary waiting time at the till. Pretty much had everything I wanted.

The following occurred around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022 when I went to the Georgia Avenue mini Target to pick up an order that my wife placed online:

[After waiting in a long line, I approached the clerk, a surly young woman. She does not make eye contact or say anything.]
Me: Hi, I am picking up an online order.
[The clerk looks around as if miffed by my purpose, but says nothing. She notices that I am holding a bottle of shampoo.]
Clerk: You want to pay for that?
Me: Sure, but can you please get my online order?
[Visibly agitated, the clerk mumbles something and looks around. It seems as though she needs a small tablet that another clerk is using, but does not explain anything to me. It also seems she is having a bad day, and, of course, I cannot possibly guess the cause of her agitation, so I remain patient.]
Clerk: You want to pay for that?
Me: Sure.
Clerk: $6.33. [I tap my card.]
Clerk: You want a bag?
Me: I was just going to put it in the bag with my online order.
[Visibly agitated by my renewed request, the clerk walks away and says something to the other clerk, who hands her the tablet.]
Clerk: Name?
Me: [I say my name and spell it because it is unusual].
Clerk: Huh?
Me: [I repeat the spelling. She walks off without saying anything. The clerk returns with two bags, one of them I assume is for someone else because my wife ordered only a set of washcloths and two pharmacy products.]
Clerk: Excuse me. [Rudely, to another customer in line.]
Me: [Looking in the larger bag the clerk extends toward me, which contains several gray bath towels:] These are supposed to be washcloths.
Clerk: No, they're not.
Me: Ok. [Questioning myself for about 2 seconds.]
Clerk: [To another clerk:] I'm going on break.

At his point, I looked back and saw the long line for the online order pickup desk. Rather than get in that line to await another clerk to make an exchange, I decided to just keep the bath towels and purchase the $2.50/each washcloths from self-checkout. However, when I went to the shelves, it looked like Hurricane Ian blew through and I cannot find the washcloths that the website says are in stock. I texted this story to my wife. She laughed and pointed out that we got bath towels for $2.50 a piece.

Honestly, I am not even mad, but just stunned that a business can be operated in such a manner. I'll be back because I don't want to have to drive to the full Target in Wheaton, but I doubt I'll ever use the online ordering function again.

Photo: These are not $2.50 washcloths, but $9 bath towels. Confused dog for scale.
The best place for greeting cards and gifts. A great asset for our neighborhood.

This dollar tree has recently opened and I think it is a great location. There’s free parking and the store is big to hold a variety of merchandise. The employees are very attentive and do their best to keep the store organized and fully stocked. My only concern is that there are some customers who grabs items and make a mess by pulling items disorderly or leaving items behind in random spots. If we want to keep this dollar tree looking nice, everyone has to do their part in keeping the store organized. I am grateful to have this dollar tree in my neighborhood and want to keep it for the long run. I gave it a 5 star because this the third dollar tree in DC that has free parking, fully stocked items (food, seasonal items, party stuff, etc), and the employees are friendly.

Target offers a variety of Grocery options like Fruits, Vegetables, Dairy, Meats, Baked Goods, Other Snacks Options and House Hold Essential, Furniture, Home Good Items, Lawn Equipment, Supplies and many many more options available to choose from. Store was clean. Staff was knowledgeable, attentive, pleasant and friendly. This Target Offers Two Free Hours of Parking in the Underground Parking Garage After Making A Purchase At This Target Store, Customers must present a Parking Ticket to Staff at the time of Purchase in order to have your Parking Ticket Validated prior to returning to your Vehicle.
This Walmart offers Capital City Mambo Sauce, Fruits, Vegetables, Seafood, Poultry, Dairy and all sorts of Household Items. This Walmart needs to improve its Elevator services, only two out three of the elevators are working, it would be nice if they removed one of the elevator and replace it with stairs that lead customers from the parking garage to the street level and to Walmart store level for easy access. The current stairs only give customer access from the street level to Walmart store and no access to the parking garage. This Walmart includes a Pharmacy and free two hours of parking in the parking garage. This store has shopping carts available in the store and in the garage areas.

poorly managed target.. no one knew answers for anything. customer service was poor. stocking issues in all the aisles. boxes everywhere.. the food items especially bread section don’t have best before stickers on them. when questioned, they just saw each other faces. poorly managed.

This store opened a couple years ago and it’s always nice and clean. The day I went after work the store must have just received a truck because there were boxes of product on most of the aisles. But this store is generally very clean and organized. This isn’t a normal sized target though, it’s definitely smaller and has more of a convenient store type feel. But all of the normal Target staples are still there. There is parking under the store and it’s accessible using the escalators or elevator. There is a Starbucks as well. It’s a great store to visit!

It's Walmart, there are no grocery stores nearby (that I know) so it's an option. Smaller than the usual supercenter, very small produce section. There was an approximately 10 min wait at every registers when I visited.
Not exactly the best side of town. It is Walmart so all things that go with Walmart come along with this place. It's not close to any Metro station so be prepared for a walk is it on the other side of Chinatown. Excellent place for fruits and vegetables in all things grocery but be prepared also to bring your own bags as there seems to be carts missing

Trucks can park in the back and in the front as long as it's just in the night time period I'm. Nobody bought like me for 10 hours.
They have lamb meat and a bunch of other stuff.
It's very busy and well run and well stalked.
But the water doesn't smell very good
The best collection of unique cards and a great assortment of small gifts and (yes) plush animals for kids. And a few other interesting small gift options. Really a lovely and wonderful NEIGHBORHOOD store.
Good prices in an otherwise expensive city. Wide enough selection and not too crowded.
However, when we went (~7pm, weekday), the aisles were a Mess! Lots of items missing, messy, disorganized.
Perhaps I'm not used to city Walmarts, and this is just how it is (I'm mostly used to the suburbs), or perhaps we caught them on a bad day when they were short-staffed... but this Walmart was shockingly messy, compared to the ones I'm used to back home.
Really lovely store! Definitely will return - suggest holidays shopping here.
Great place to find a gift for all ages and beautiful cards
Suprabha, the owner, is one of the most pleasant and kind in DC area.Store is a lovely and peaceful place, with nice selection of gifts and cards.

Small but fairly well provisioned food section, with both snack foods and some home groceries, heavy on the convenience foods. Prices are high but better than other stores in the area. Conveniently open until 11 p.m. on Saturdays, in an area where other stores close at 9 or 10, but it closes earlier on other days of the week. Free parking with store validation.

Downside: Service was sparse and heavily dependent on self-service—there were no employees on the floor helping customers, and of three employees around the checkout counter, only one was operating a register, quite lackadaisically.

I like shopping here because it's a one stop shop, from food to medication to clothes. It's just very convenient.

This Target Store is well-lit with wide aisles. I went there on a Sunday evening. Some of the shelves were empty from Saturday shoppers. I wanted to buy Figi Water but they were sold out. I am impressive by the organic selection of groceries. The parking was plentiful the day and time that I went.

Great small format Target in a really accessible part of Cleveland Park (and just steps from the Metro stop). Impressed with their selection of fresh foods. Nice home goods section too. Unique underground store. Really friendly employees! I will certainly be back.

Ever since this Target added self-checkout, they've relied solely on it. At most, they open only one regular checkout line if self-checkout gets long. Better off going to the CVS across the street.

10/7/19 update: this place either needs to solve their self-checkout problem or open up more than one regular cash register
Great cards, calendars, a variety of stationary, mugs, incense, candles, jewelry, wrapping paper, toys for children to adult, some books and much more. Great atmosphere.....
