Should have looked at reviews before going there. They scheduled an appointment for me for an injury, I show up for the appointment to find out they rescheduled it without notifying me or trying to find an earlier appointment. Tried to talk to a supervisor and no one was available. Sad that students are forced to pay for something that is so inefficient.

We was referred here for the ultrasound and labor and delivery service. The ultrasound department is really nice on time and professional to both parents. The labor and delivery department was outstanding the rooms was clean and updated the nurse even set up a sleeping area for me ( Dad) which was really nice and made sure I was comfortable. the nurses was professional and compassionate with my girlfriend when she was in pain. the doctors did a really good job with the delivery of my daughter they even let me help which was cool. Then we went to the postpartum section which needs to be updated like it was a hole in the wall and the father only got a recliner chair but the nurses was so nice and caring especially the night nurse name Tigist with the birth of our daughter. Even the register and social worker was really nice and helpful. But the food to patients rooms need improvement she didn’t even eat it I always was bring stuff in for her. I would recommend this hospital to have a baby at

I gave birth on 02/11/24 and the experience I had was incredibly wonderful because of the talented, young, extreme professionalism, great communication and Profesional judgment made by the OB/GYN resident on duty on that date Dr. Ajah Chandler, of course with her supper nice and kind hearted team. I have also noticed that the teamwork and collaboration of departments' (including Nursing) was smooth and great. Over-all am really greatful and they owe me THANK YOU to all who took care of my baby and I. Thank you GBU!

We had the misfortune of having both Neha Sullivan and Oghenetega Esegine assigned to my mother. The first miscreant responded to my question about my mother’s labs by telling me she didn’t know and she didnt memorize them. What a ridiculous vile thing to say to a worried family member. She refused to acknowledge her nasty snarky disgusting behaviour. The Esegine one is barely out of residency and doing an incredibly poor job. She was unkind, crass, cruel and disgusting like her colleague. She refused to come and talk with us for hours. Just an awful individual. I hate that either of these vile disgusting miscreants had any part in my mother’s care

A couple of comments. Dr. Cara Schultz was very dismissive of me today. It shocked me so much that it caused me to forget to further inquire about issues I came in to discuss. She came in with a preformed opinion as to what the issue is and a quick solution. She did not entertain discussion about other medical advice I had been given and seemed to scoff at the idea that she might need to look into more than one idea about what was wrong. Furthermore, she provided no discussion about why the solution (an Amazon linked product) would be effective and no discussion about long term preventative measures. Finally, when I asked about certain measures I had been undertaking myself, she opined that they were a waste of time, again without explaining why. Perhaps it is because the people Dr. Schultz serves are students and so she thinks that her relationship with them is temporary at best (a few years, max) that she treats them with apparent disdain. Or perhaps she is oblivious to the fact that she appears this way. Or perhaps she is going through some difficulties in life. In any event, her being very dismissive, terse, and short (conversationally, not in stature) caused me to not even be able to get the information I came to the center for in the first place. I did not want to believe Dr. Schultz’s bad google reviews, but they are completely true. This comment has been shared both here and publicly on google reviews.
Second: the front desk man asked me to put on a mask - which I was happy to do. However he neglected to ask the woman who entered a mere 6 feet before me, who had been sniffling! Moreover, neither he nor any of the front desk staff wore masks, in clear violation of the posted signs - please do not ask others to do something you are not yourself willing to do, especially in something as simple as masking.

The operator Danita is rude and unprofessional. She is a stain on Howard’s name and she needs to be terminated. She doesn’t listen, overtalks you and puts you on hold when she loses patience. She works in a hospital not a call center she needs to be trained. I will be calling the joint commission about my overall experience and what I saw while I was there. This call would have never been placed if Danita wasn’t nasty,

I gave birth on 12/20/2023. Many nurses and doctors were nice/ well-rounded, others could have been different. Unfortunately, shift changes were difficult for me because these professionals were not communicating with each other as they are suppose to. My experience was overall bad but I tried to stay positive given the fact that my son was having seizures and no one told me of the episodes until 3 hours after they were happening. I asked what the procedure was from what I believe was the supervising pediatrician at the time, Dr. Wonodi. It was stated (while another professional stood witnessing our conversation) that it was more important to take care of the patient first then notify family. This is understandable if the patient was an adult, this was a newborn and the mother (myself) was only around the corner from the NICU. It was stated that it was so “busy” but that it was an “emergency.” An emergency is enough to notify the parent within a 3 hour period when I’m nearly 15 feet away from the NICU. I also pondered if anyone would have told me if I ever asked to see my baby, timing that the episode “started” 9am, timing that I asked to see my child was 12pm which Dr. Jane was the pediatrician in the NICU at the time. This was heartbreaking that I wasn’t able to see him at first due to being placed on a medicine that causes extreme fatigue, but it was more heartbreaking that my sister could not bring him in due to his condition which I did not know of. Dr. Jane came in stating she wanted to give me an “update,” it’s not an update if I was never notified in the first place. This experience was rough and the NICU should consider better supervision.
Next, I was not given directions on how to take care of myself when it pertains to stitches, symptoms to look for pertaining to infection, etc. I was sent home with info on preeclampsia of course because it must’ve been more serious. I also noticed few doctors or nurses walking around with no identification in sight. I actually explained to one nurse about this because I didn’t know how to explain who the doctor was that came in and asked me questions. With this being said, I also thought it was important that no one cared to pick up my items which laid on the counter from the night before I was discharged. (blood work) and these other items in my room given the fact that I believe it’s a HIPPA violation to leave these things around unattended where they can be slipped out of the hospital and into the wrong hands.(pictures to show). I was also bedridden for those days and it’s understandable that the nurses did not want me getting up but who wants to sit in their own blood on top of sheets of disposable paper products AND can’t shower or wash/wipe at all and you’ve been there for two days?(I was not given or offered any depends or sufficient bottoms when I needed them the most) I had to complain which only made me seem ignorant. I think the worst part of this all was the fact that I only wanted to see my son and no one cared of this fact being as though he was being transferred to Childrens Hospital. Instead, I probably portrayed this angry new mom but in turn, I was concerned for the newborn child I just gave birth to and only held for 10 minutes before he was taken from me to go to the “Transitional Unit” which he ended up in the NICU without my knowledge. Thank You to all the nurses and doctors who shared support and care in taking care of myself and my son.

The staff are so nice and helpful. The doctor is very professional and he explained clearly the status of my health issue. He worked closely with me as a patient so you become comfortable and assured of the best treatment will be done. Everyone is friendly .

Excellent experience. Very helpful setup to guide through the new building. Land J at the reception desk very helpful checking me in and setting up next appointment. Renee quickly taking my vitals and prepping for doctors visit. And Abby and Dr Reilly excellent visit. First class and highest rating!

The hospital staff is most friendly and helpful. The size of the hospital is daunting. The MRI staff has is friendly, professional, attentive, sensitive & more. My test was a bit over 1 hr. Every person in the MRI department from intake through the procedure excellent. Thank you for making me feel safe.

I underwent an elective surgery to donate bone marrow with Dr. Rennert and it was a fantastic experience! He took the time to explain everything very thoroughly and made sure I understood. The nurses were very quick to respond to my needs and work through options with me. I’d definitely recommend

The staff at MedStar Georgetown University hospital were very kind, organized and efficient. When the ultrasound tech called me for my appointment, they followed all the right protocols regarding my identity (name, birthdate etc), discussed my previous related procedures and offered me options for my comfort. The appointment was easy and quick.
I would recommend MedStar Georgetown University hospital to my family and friends.

This hospital is TERRIBLE. My mother recently had eye surgery and they scheduled her for 2:30pm. It's a 30 minute surgery. It took them 13 FREAKING HOURS to get to her REGARDLESS of how much pain she was in. Then on top of that, the African nurse was ENTIRELY rude and aggressive and was rushing my godfather to come get us so she could go home (Like we wanted to be there any longer). Then I had to dress my mother since she apparently wouldn't. Then she has an appointment every month to check on her eyes. If we get here at 11am, we leave at 6pm. They're just awful and rude. Those bathrooms are creepy and filthy as well.

Dr. Patrick Jackson and team were exceptional. Very professional, kept my daughter and I informed at all times. Post operative care was wonderful and I then was transferred to observation centre for the night and it was again professional and every health care worker I came in contact was so nice and helpful. We I got home Dr. Jackson’s nurse contacted me to ask how I was and to schedule my return appointment. I want to specifically thank Susan as she was with me the entire journey and really made it easier. Susan thank you and you truly are a blessing and good nurse.

You don't get your own personal doctor, you are assigned a team. The rooms are so small it's ridiculous. I feel so claustrophobic. I feel like I'm not being heard.
They transferred me here and I'm no where near home. Pushed to do things I'm not comfortable with , then when I comply they want me to do more with no better result.
Guys, this was right b4 the opened up the new building. Again this is the old building right before the new building opened.

My experience at MGUH has been a rewarding and enriching. The sanitation of the hospital is superb and the staff extremely attentive and the care and concern I've received was exceptionally great! Dr. Atves do a phenomenal job in taking care of me during my continued healing process. Use

I had a horrible experience with Dr. Cara Schultz at the GW Student Health Center. My pcp told me to see a local doctor in order to try and get referrals for some symptoms that I was experiencing so I made an appointment at my on-campus clinic. I began to discuss my symptoms which include what appears to be mild dissociation. Dr. Schultz interrupted me, chastised me for using "fancy terms", incorrectly defined dissociation (I am a mental health counselor so I know the definition of dissociation), and then condescendingly told me to tell her what is "actually" going on. Dr. Schultz did not know that I am a mental health counselor but she assumed that I lacked knowledge about the symptoms I was discussing and that felt invalidating and belittling.
She also proceeded to tell me that my pcp was wrong and she would not be providing me the referrals I sought out. Rather she told me that my problem was probably a side effect of the medications I have been taking for years (with no prior problems) and she referred me to a GW psychiatrist.
This was a horrible experience and I am appalled at the way that I was treated by Dr. Schultz. I will definitely not be going back and will not recommend the GW Student Health Center to anyone seeking empathetic medical care.

Here at HUH for the first time for a dermatologist appointment. When I walked in the front door, the man behind the information desk called me over and gave me a sticker/badge to wear inside the hospital. I said it was my first time here and was looking for Suite 4300 to see the dermatologist. He mumbled something under his mask, and I asked him to speak up as I couldn't hear him well. He mumbled again and I had to ask him to speak up a second time. Finally, he spoke loud enough for me to understand I needed to walk to the back of the building and take the rear elevator up to the 4th floor.
Once I got to Suite 4300 it wasn't much better, unfortunately. The two ladies behind the check-in counter looked up when I walked in and then looked back down at their paperwork. I walked over and said "Hi! I'm here for my appointment to see.." and was immediately cut off. One of them said, a bit curtly, "We'll be with you in a moment" and went back to her paperwork. I stood there for a few minutes until one of them put her papers aside and asked me for my name and ID. I got checked in pretty quickly after that as I had filled out all my info online ahead of time. I was then brought into the back within a few minutes by the nurse.
From that point on, it was smooth sailing with a really great nurse and doctor experience. Solid appointment overall, but the first two interactions I had with the information & check-in staff both felt awkward. It was like I was bothering them by just being there doing what one is supposed to do when they come in for an appointment. First impressions matter, and I think it's important for any hospital to staff those frontline positions with friendly and helpful folks.

Understaffed, stressful, and very dirty ER.
I don’t think I’ve ever been to a hospital where I’ve feared so much at the idea of getting a staff infection. It is truly a filthy environment and I’m pretty sure it fail to meet the standards in which hospital’s cleanliness should be governed.
It’s obvious from the accumulation of shown in these photos that the hospital haven’t been cleaned in quite s ome time (months most likely).
I literally stood the entire time (8 plus hours) I was in there; out of fear that something worst may crawl on me and go home with me and be more detrimental to my health than the reason I was being seen.
I’d recommend if given the option to go another hospital in the future; to please do so. Could be the difference between life and death.

Incompetent and condescending towards the students seeking help. I would rather pay for off-campus care, even if it's four times the price. Incorrectly diagnossed me and discharged me three times before I sook a second opinion and was given medication for strep.

The experience in the colonial health center is so bad. The doctor is so unprofessional, I had mouth sore and she did not even look at my mouth and certainly she misdiagnosed my mouth sore as "cold sore". And she give me the medicine which have side effect. Needless to say after taking all the medicine I did not get any better. Then I went to see another doctor and she told me it is not cold sore, it is fungus infection and the disease is mouth eczema. After using the anti-fungus cream just twice my mouth almost recovered. I am so disappointed with colonial health center. the doctor has limited experience and is so unprofessional.

I have been to the Colonial Health Center a numbr of times, and I can say that they go above and beyond. Honestly, the staff is really quite friendly, from the crew at the desk to the doctors (Specially Dr. Christie!). No complaints.

This is not a full doctor's office, but for your basic illnesses it's fantastic. I've been here 3 times since I started at GW, and every time they've been helpful.
My most major issue is that I came in with the worst sinus infection ever (fever, a nose that made me bear a striking resemblance to Rudolph because it was red and swollen, and the associated misery). I was able to get an appointment within 2 hours of my call for an exam with a medical professional. They were able to prescribe an antibiotic (and also told me to take Flonase, which is now OTC.) The visit fee was $30, which is a lot cheaper than an urgent care or a real doctor, and as a grad student, that's pretty important to me.
For really big stuff you'll probably need a real doctor, but for average illnesses and generalized care (I believe they can also do annual physicals) you won't go wrong coming here. And even if you do come here and they can't help you on-site, they'll refer you out to a doctor who knows what they're doing.

Terrible service. When you schedule an appointment to see a doctor, instead of a MD, a nurse will see you and give you some over the counter medicine. Is this the right way of taking care of students' health!?
