I suffered from urine retention Tuesday night and was in great distress. My wife drove me to Huntsville Hospital ER around midnight. I was in serious trouble, and the ER staff recognized it and got me back to triage very quickly. Everyone was kind and professional. They inserted a catheter in me and the relief was instant. The staff, nurse Jenny and Dr. Schmidt were very thorough in all the of the tests they ran on me. No one wants to go to ER, but I am so thankful that Huntsville Hospital ER helped me.

Everyone from first responders to the ER took very good care of me. They made sure comfortable as possible. The ER staff got right to me and Dr. Horton in the ER was great. This is one of the best experiences I ever had at Huntsville Hospital ER. Thank you all for taking such good care of me.

The intake staff were very friendly and efficient. I had stroke level blood pressure and after an EKG I was sent home and told to double my medication. I feel that they should have given me the additional pill then & there. But I wasn't offered that. I was discharged with my BP still stroke level high. The Dr seemed ok except for not trying to lower it before sending me home.

My mothers visit was on 23 February 2024, where we found the staff at Huntsville Emergency Department being efficient and knowledgeable. The staff ’s dedication to providing personalized care was evident
with patient-first care approach with its streamlined processing and the extra steps taken to ensure her comfort and my satisfaction.
The room was comfortable and well-maintained, providing a restful atmosphere for her care and recovery. I must commend the medical staff for their professionalism and empathy. Nurses and doctors were attentive, ensuring that my mother received comprehensive care. The support staff, from the receptionists to the security team, contribute to the hospital’s welcoming and supportive environment.

I went in with my emergency. They got to me very quickly. Nurses were awesome and caring. Got scans quickly and diagnosed promptly. Doctor on duty explained everything very well. They took very good care of me. They also have taken very good care of my husband also. They deserve a 10.

The emergency room was very busy when we arrived around 2:00 pm. By 5:00 pm there were only a few seats left. All of our questions were answered as we waited to be called to a room. My husband’s vitals were taken twice while we waited. Fortunately I was able to leave & get a drink & a snack since we obviously were going to be there awhile. Once we were in a room, tests were ordered quickly. Unfortunately, he was not able to get his MRI or a room until the next day. It’s obvious that Huntsville Hospital Emergency needs a larger facility & services to accommodate the area. The service my husband received was excellent & the staff was always kind, compassionate & efficient. .

My partner is enduring some kind of medical flare and after waiting 10 hours in ER, she wasn’t even examined. Doc told her he couldn’t tests because her blood work wasn’t too off. She needed to go to a GI and neurologist. She continues to decline. What happened to the compassion and care of HH? You may have a better chance for good care at Crestwood.

I know places may be short staffed . Overwhelmed ect. I came in for vomiting , diarrhea for over two days where the last 24 hours I was going every hour or less . I have Covid . Had not drank anything in two days . I was there a long time before blood work was done . Which at that time a nurse asked if I needed zofran . Yes! Which helped me not have to use the bathroom as often . By the way the ladies bathroom in the er has only one stall working for an er full of people with issues like mine . Finally after waiting 6 hours or more I was taken to a hallway where the dr came and talked to me . I was fine not really dehydrated. So we discussed what I wanted . We settled on zofran going home and a bag of fluids . So , the put an iv in as I sat in the hallway , couldn’t shut the door to the er waiting room cause the door is broke . I sat in a hall no privacy for everyone to see hear and recieved my bag of fluid some zofran and sent on my way . I felt like I should have got a discount . Anyone that knows me will tell you I don’t go to the hospital till last min that is a last resort for me . I understand busy days heck I even understand sitting in a hallway . But at least there could be partitions or something . I’m at home less than 24 hours later with horrible diarrhea again . Trying my best to stay hydrated . Staff was nice doing their best . They need support in all areas.i sent my family this pic . And told them I was getting my fluids and their response was , are you in a hallway ? Sooooo, how about that discount?
