Amazing people, organizations, communities—everything!
It is a very important organization for youth in Brooklyn, one of the centers of New York. They are very experienced in after school, weekend school and mentoring young people. I think it is a very good organization. Quality people, quality education, quality activities
I signed my son up for there soccer program and my son became sick and was unable to attend his spring 10 classes . So I decided to email them on several occasion to explain the situation to see if he can join the summer classes since he was unable to attend . It’s been 2 months since my first email and I’ve yet to hear from them . This is unacceptable for a business for kids can easily take your money but have no consideration to even return your emails . Be aware .
The over promise and under-deliver. Poor record keeping means no email updates, they do not return phone calls are email. When you do speak to someone they are combative, abrasive and are not solution oriented. The instructors are amazing however expect no solutions or refunds for issues/cancellations on their part. If you can use another program who is better organized and the admin start does not start an argument with you. I will NEVER send my child here again.

Literally awesome organization
Great organization for youth people of the New York!!
Nice people, nice activities, nice education
Youth Island New York was established in 2017 as a non-profit organization aiming to support middle school, high school, and college students spiritually, socially, and academically.

Through our mentoring programs and long-term activities, we strive to create an environment where students can practice their beliefs and culture, have a successful transition from middle school to college, and immerse in American society as unique individuals.
We have been attending soccer classes at Creativity since my kids were very small- 2 and 3 years old! They are now 7 and 9, and participate in Coach Yvener’s “Talent Center” for more advanced students. They love it! The coaches are always fun and engaging, besides being very skilled soccer players, and classes are always low key and inventive.
Berkeley Carroll has so many good points! Academics, social, and sports all EXCELLENT! Son (and parents) are 100% happy!

The music program is a national standout! Dr. Holsberg is motivating, tough and fun with his dry sense of humor the kids love!

As a parent, I like that my 6th grade son and all other 5/6th graders must study an instrument! Expanding the brain by learning music is a critical factor in brain plasticity and growth.
Excellent school for both my kids. One graduated, one still attending the upper school. Been through the lower, middle and upper school programs and all are dynamic, challenging and welcoming of all students. Highly recommend.
Love this school for my two daughters! What an amazing place. BC encourages students to explore their interests in a warm, supportive yet rigorous environment. Fantastic teachers who really care and know their stuff. The school cares about the total student - and it shows.
Our 4 yo girls had their first soccer practices ever with Creativity Soccer Pro and it was a very positive experience for them, one that will only bolster their love of soccer for the rest of their lives. I never had the chance to watch a class, but my wife, who brought them to all of their classes, had only great things to say about the coaching staff and the way they treated the kids. Even without my wife's endorsement, I could tell how great the program was by the happiness and excitement of our girls on soccer days.
My 2 year old just did a summer soccer session and loved it! The coaches are really great with the kids. I was worried with my son being so young that it would just be running around, but they have created a program that is very age appropriate and teaches many different types of skills.
I have two kids that have been at Berkeley Carroll for the last five years. The teachers and administrators have truly gotten to know each of my children and they both feel part of a community that both challenges and supports them. They are currently in the middle school and I’m constantly blown away by the sophistication of the critical thinking that they demonstrate.
I've watched in amazement as my once toddlers have become intelligent, engaged and empathic young adults at Berkeley Carroll. The teachers are outstanding mentors who give their all to these kids. BC is an extrordinary community and a first class education. --And it keeps getting better!
Needless to say, I can't send 1 kid to 2 schools at the same time to compare schools, but I can point out a few things. My younger child has been going to Berkeley Carroll for 3 years and thoroughly enjoys it. I'm deeply impressed by the teachers and administration. There is a persistent effort to improve. I'm repeatedly struck by how much better schooling and teaching is compared to when I was a kid in upstate NY (but again, comparisons are difficult and how things are now compared to 40 years ago is not especially relevant). My main criterion is that schools endow children with the capability to be who they want to be. Sounds hallmarky, but that's my best summary. BC is doing very well. [NOTE: There are several 1 star reviews that are clearly by the same individual masquerading as "A Google User")
One reason I choose to put my daughter to Creativity Soccer Pro because she is 3years old and tend not to like instructions. So not only she is enjoying but learning at the same time. As for now she seems very interested. Look forward for soccer's day every week. I never had any misunderstanding from any of the coaches. I loved the fact they email day an advance just to remind you that the game is coming and if you can't make it on the day your child was scheduled for training they workout with your schedule. Yes I will recommend it . Best thing they have it throughout the year not just summer.😍😍😍keep up the good work. Thanks for having us.
Both of my kids are on their second season with Creativity Soccer. Communication isn't the best sometimes but is getting much better, and the class is consistently SO creative and so much fun for the kids. The coach really gets kids and understands what is developmentally appropriate for each age group. My kids look forward to it all week and always talk about how they can't wait to tell their coach things each week. We did a different soccer program last year and this one is just so much more fun and developmentally appropriate. I really can't recommend them enough!!

I searched long and hard for an activity to put my 7 year old son in. We tried karate, gymnastics, and basketball, however nothing seemed to be a good fit. I ran across Coach Yvener one summer day, he told me about the program and I decided to check out the website. Initially, it was just a trial session but my son loved it so much that I decided to enroll him for summer and 6 sessions later we're still going strong. The coach and staff are very passionate about their craft. They're patient and loving with the children. They strive to bring out the best in each individual child while teaching them teamwork, confidence and an overall love for the sport. I have two friends that I recommended to the program and they love it. I have a toddler and I can't wait to enroll him when he's old enough. I'd recommend Creativity Soccer Pro to anyone looking for a great program to put their youngster in.
We conducted an extensive search when we were choosing a middle school for our children and we could not be more thrilled with our choice of Berkeley Carroll. From the first acceptance letter, which is personalized for each student, I could tell that this was a school that would really know my child. It is a school that creates a safe environment where students can take risks, push themselves and try out new talents. As my daughter points out, there is no one Berkeley Carroll student and rare is the student that only does one thing; she is an athlete and an artist, a scientist and a writer, an actor and a debater. After such an incredible middle school experience we didn't think twice about keeping both of our children at BC for High School. The high school is incredibly rigorous and I have heard from many BC alum that they were well prepared for college life. My daughter has had the good fortune of participating in the Science Research and Design program, and is currently working with a doctoral student from Harvard on her research. The faculty is incredible, in both the middle and upper schools. They are brilliant, dedicated and truly love teaching. They push students to delve deeper and ask more questions.
In the six years that my two children have been a part of the school, they have (combined) been to Africa and Wyoming, they have (combined) played on basketball, softball, volleyball and swim teams, they are in the orchestra, community service society and yearbook and they have only participated in a fraction of what the school offers. I cannot imagine a better education for my children.
Berkeley Carroll is an excellent all around school – the academics, arts and athletic offerings are all really strong so you don’t have to sacrifice in any area when you send your children there. My children have attended since pre-K and at that age, you don’t know what areas they will be most interested in or excel in so you want a school that is as consistently good as this one is. It's also an incredibly warm and nurturing place with a great sense of community. My children have attended for a total of 15 years and have not had a single teacher who we were not totally happy with. My oldest child is in 8th grade and we have heard only wonderful things about the high school. They have made a number of curriculum and design changes that we are very excited about, as well as having a variety of travel offerings in the upper school. The athletic center has a wonderful pool and both my kids learned to swim as part of their normal school day in Kindergarten. The school just finished renovations to two of the buildings that have beautiful new classroom and common space. All in all, a fantastic choice!
