It started by having a so called tutor come to our home. Then she stopped coming and no one contacted me for weeks. I had to eventually call Matt and he tried and squeezed my child into a new location which my child went once and rudely said after the session that he doesn’t want her back. All cause we missed a payment which mind you WE DONT HAVE TO PAY AT ALL. Matt advised us it was non profit- so to my understanding we donate what we can if we can when we can.
Well let let me tell you.. that is so not the case. God forbid your child attends this spot and you DONT give any donation for that day or forget to- THEY WILL KICK YOUR CHILD OUT without hesitation. I think it’s all a scam, Matt is very rude and unprofessional. He demands asking for money when he shouldn’t and this isn’t any way to help or care about childrens education as he says.
If I wanted a private paid tutor I’d get one! Don’t go here it’s all a scam!!! Disgusting
An absolute Wonder program. My child has come so far in her Quran studies. The program was so good that when we placed her in an Islamic school she was ahead of all the other children with Quran memorization. My younger child even benefitted from listening to her. They truly work with you to get the best time you need and do a lot of charity work for the community.
Astoria Values is an amazing organization that strives to help those in need. Working with them was a great experience and it taught me to value the things I have and to not take things for granted. These are some amazing people who genuinely care ab others. You can learn a lot from this organization. It was a pleasure volunteering with them!
Astoria Values did a Spectacular job with my kids. I was amazed that even with the pandemic at its height they were still able to give my kids some sense of normalcy. The progress my kids made in Math and English is beyond the pale. My kids used to hate reading and were intimidated by math; now, they actively look forward to their online sessions. I was particularly impressed by how seamlessly Astoria Values was able to transition from in person to an online platform. They have done so much for my kids and I am incredibly grateful to the Director, Fatima. I highly recommend them. The truly shocking part is that they are incredibly affordable. As a not for profit, they are true to their mission of making good things happen and even though I moved out of New York City last month, my kids have continued to benefit tremendously from the Math classes. My daughter recently started learning French with them as well, and she simply loves it.
As a parent I am completely satisfied knowing that my kid is being taken cafe of by the most caring teachers and staff of Astoria Values. They always make sure my son’s homework is on-time and complete. My son also enjoys the extra time playing with his friends after finishing all his studies. Last but not the least Miss Fatima is always following up with me regarding any progress or effort that my son needs to put, which I really appreciate. And she takes care of all the kids just as her own.
When my 5 year started taking a weekly Chinese class offered by Astoria Values in Sept ‘19, she was very reluctant and shy. Fatima (the owner) helped her feel at ease. Within 2 weeks, she went to the class with no problem. Additionally, Astoria Values has been super responsive to our feedback in terms of speed, etc. of the class. Further, when I needed child care over the Christmas break due to the need to attend a funeral, Astoria Values was more than accommodating and my daughter had a great day there. They also asked if she need help with homework or if there is anything I would like my daughter to work on that day. I am happy to recommend Astoria Values. They are super flexible, responsible, and truly offers great value.
As a summer volunteer at Astoria Values, I have had the opportunity to work with children ranging from kindergarten to fourth grade. My responsibilities include tutoring the kids in math, reading and writing and taking them to the park. It has not always been an easy task, but the owners/directors are incredibly kind and supportive. I feel comfortable discussing any of the questions or concerns I may have. I’ve enjoyed my time here and with flexible hours and a friendly environment, I would recommend this place to others interested in volunteering.
I organized a birthday party for my 5 year old son at Astoria Values. It's a spacious studio for kids that can easily fit 40 people. It was very easy to discuss all the details with the owner Matt, and he was very helpful and open to our needs and suggestions. I definitely recommend Matt and his Studio Astoria values to everyone who wants to organize kids event without a headache.
