Very nice and interesting museum.
Turkiye’s history is absolutely amazing and they know exactly how to cherish and showcase it.

The museum is all about sea related items. Ships, boats, submarines, accessories and diving clothes, weapons…etc

It’s worth the visit.

One of the most underrated museums in Istanbul 🇹🇷⚓⛴️🌊.

Easy to get to from the ferry port and bust stop, lots to see and do, and although they don't accept Muzekart, it's affordable (200TL at the time). I'd recommend taking at least half-a-day to see and experience all the exhibits.

A must visit if you're in Istanbul.

Unfortunately we wanted to visit on a Monday and it was closed so please keep this in mind when planning your visit. We saw some of the museum from the outside next to the seafront and it looked Great. Will definitely make the visit inside next time

Amazing historical voyage of the Turkish Navy, starting from pre-Ottoman until the modern day.

No queues, well organized with explanations in both Turkish and English.

A bit light on the background and significance of some of the pieces. Could benefit from a guide book

Very nice museum if you are interested in ships, naval history and paraphernalia...
Absolutely impressive the Sultan's historical Galley apparently from Mehmet II very well preserved. The rest of the galleys (mostly from XIX century) are very nice too. A well documented travel through Otoman history and the battles and navegación history. Very nice collection of old diving equipments too.

The museum has a wide variety of boats, naval and underwater equipment. The exhibition was quite impressive and I definitely recommend it. The ottoman and turkish boats are very well preserved. In my opinion, it's very underrated.

Really good exhibition including long boats, models of ships, guns, swords, paintings and even diving helmets. The price of admission was 200tl.
My only issue is if you have a camera they will ask you to pay 120tl to use it. Taking photos on your phone is free.
There are toilets, a café and they speak English.
The staff are very welcoming.
Easily found, massive sign on the building.
Highly recommended going on a boat tour after (they depart from right next to it)

This museum would be very interesting for kids and their fathers. The exposition starts with old luxary long boats that are hundreds of years old, then as you go further you can see how the ships have been evolving.

I particularly enjoyed a few rooms showing the history of the diving equipment.

If you are not into this kind of museums you could always have coffee or a beer in the beautiful cafe on the first floor.

The tickets were 100 lira per person in September of 2022.

What an amazing museum! Usually off the beaten path regarding places to visit in Istanbul but if you've been here and done the necessary this and that this place is a must visit. They put centuries old Ottoman era boats into the place itself. The explanations of Ottoman/Turkish maritime history is great. Lovely place and has a really cool cafe inside.
